In this troubled season, the Champions League has been a saving grace for Manchester United this season.

Even when they have been in trouble, they have found an escape route and with other results going their way, they have ended up as group winners with a game to spare.

It means they are in the last-16 for only the fourth time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

A terrible Marc-Andre ter Stegen clearance almost gifts Bayern a chance and Sergio Busquets is booked for hauling down Robert Lewandowski.

These United players have got something to prove and they've come flying out of the traps even though Ralf Rangnick's side are through.

Amad Diallo has an early chance inside the box but the keeper is down to save.

There's a HUGE match taking place at the Allianz Arena tonight where Barcelona are fighting to stay in the Champions League.

If Barca don't win against Bayern Munich and Benfica win at home to Dynamo Kyiv, the Spanish club will go out.

"If we win, it will be Barca's first victory here in Munich. We have a great opportunity to make history," said Barca boss Xavi.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique said: "We are playing for out lives."

Bayern Munich are bidding to win all six Champions League group games for the second time.

Elsewhere in Manchester United's group, it's a winter wonderland in Italy as Atalanta prepare to face Villarreal.

Villarreal, who start the night in second spot, will go through if they avoid defeat. They will finish third if they lose.

Atalanta, who start third, will go through if they win. They will finish third if they draw.

We already know Manchester United are through as group winners.

But what do Young Boys need to do to stay in Europe?

They are on four points, two behind Atalanta and three adrift of Villarreal.

The Swiss champions cannot finish in the top two but will take third spot and a place in the Europa League if they win and Atalanta lose at home to the Spanish side.
