A crucial double save from Jan Oblak!

A free-kick comes in from Alex Telles on the right, Raphael Varane's header is clawed off the line by Oblak and the overhead kick rebound from Ronaldo is also picked up by the keeper.

Ronaldo was offside anyway so the flag's up but that was a big save from Oblak on Varane.

Manchester United's players and crowd are furious. Marcos Llorente is down inside his own box following a clash with Alex Telles. There's nothing in it but the referee stops play while United are attacking on the edge of the box because he thinks it's a head injury. Llorente was holding his ankle and is straight back up onto his feet.

As it stands, Ajax and Benfica are heading for extra-time and Manchester United are crashing out of the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid are set to join Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City in the quarter-finals.

Joao Felix sees David de Gea miles off his line and goes for it. It's a terrible effort in the end but De Gea will be slightly relieved because he was a long way off his line.

Joao Felix plays a lovely ball through to Antoine Griezmann. The flag stays down but he's miles out and pushed wide under pressure so he goes for the audacious chip. He's not miles off but it's always going over.

First changes for Manchester United. Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic are on.

Anthony Elanga, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay are the ones to come off.

Fred wins a free-kick on the left which earns a cheer from Old Trafford.

Can Manchester United take advantage? They have to score at least once to take this game to extra-time.

No away goals advantage but it wouldn't have mattered with this aggregate scoreline anyway had United equalised - we'd still be heading to extra time if it ends 1-1.

Joao Felix is inches away from getting a touch on it as it's fizzed in from the left.

It comes all the way through and Atletico have a corner which is headed over by Jose Maria Gimenez.

Oooh, Benfica have barely had a sniff but a corner comes all the way through to Jan Vertonghen at the back post and the defender can only steer a header back across the face of goal - the former Ajax man gets such an angle on his effort that it stays in play and skids away.

Raphael Varane robs it off Joao Felix, who tries to turn near the touchline.

Diego Simeone is bellowing at the referee, while Marcus Rashford, warming up by the side, applauds his team-mate.

Robin: Scott McTominay's passing is genuinely dreadful. Cannot dictate or control the tempo to save his life. Beyond frustration.

Tambuwal: Coming back from a goal down against Atletico Madrid is not for everyone.

Paul Collins: Can’t stand Atletico but perhaps if Man Utd had a bit more of the Atletico in them that goal would be avoided regardless. Elanga and the foul on him (arguable that was even a foul) was about as far away from Utd goal as you could get. Still had time to stop it.

Jadon Sancho knows this is a big chance.

He goes for the volley but fires it over the bar from fairly close range. Tough technique but that was a chance.

Harry Maguire's unease and lack of confidence in possession has prompted loud groans of anxiety from the Manchester United fans inside Old Trafford. Not exactly helping but he does look very uncertain at times.

Scott McTominay and Fred work together to win the ball for United in the middle but Cristiano Ronaldo is stopped by Marcos Llorente, who sprinted back to get into position.
