Fred will get in Harlem Globetrotters the way he is playing, with some of the flicks.

We keep talking about the fact he gives the ball away more than any other Manchester United player, but I have to say he has been their best player tonight.

  16. 'Utd need to play with more quality'published at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2022

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I feel sorry for Manchester United a bit, they have put so much effort in. But they have rushed things and not had that quality in the final third.

They will be pleased with the tempo they have played at but you need to play with more quality to get a result.

And you can't afford to give goals away like that.

    Phil McNulty

Manchester United are nursing a sense of injustice and their frustration is increased by the fact they dominated the early stages. Atletico, however, were more of a threat as the half wore on and had threatened before the goal.

It was a goal that was superbly created but where was the marking on goalscorer Renan Lodi?

That was Renan Lodi's first Champions League goal in his 25th appearance in the competition.

    Ajax 0-0 Benfica (2-2 agg)

A good atmopshere at the Johan Cruyff Arena but the home fans have been unable to turn that noise into goals for their side so far. It's goalless on the night, despite Ajax's dominance.

Sam Hartles: There was 2 fouls in the build up to that goal! Referee giving Madrid absolutely everything.

RegularJon: Two fouls in the build up to the goal. Awful officiating. Been the better side by far.

Jack Lovatt: I understand United fans saying it may have been a foul on Fred, but not a chance is the Elanga one a foul.
