There's a word for what Casemiro has been doing so far this game.

It starts with an 's' and ends in 'housing'.

He's not managed to get under City's skin too much yet. To be fair, Guardiola's side had plenty of experience with such behaviour the last time they were over in Madrid.

Real are going to need more than that, though. Ederson hasn't really been called into action yet.

Josh Earl: Madrid looking a lot more defensively sound with the return of Casemiro, an absolutely crucial player for them. That being said, it's remarkable he's got through that half without a booking.

  7. 'Real Madrid look untidy'published at 20:54 British Summer Time 4 May 2022

HT: Real Madrid 0-0 Man City (agg: 3-4)

    Izzy Christiansen
England and Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Real Madrid look untidy in possession, they were like this in the first leg.

When they are playing out they look like they are gong to give the ball into City’s high press.

  8. 'It's on a knife edge'published at 20:52 British Summer Time 4 May 2022

HT: Real Madrid 0-0 Man City (agg: 3-4)

    Jonathan Woodgate
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester City haven’t really got to grips with the game, Real Madrid are doing a great job in the centre of the pitch.

It’s a level game, it could go either way. It’s on a knife edge.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+2 mins

The half ends with a couple of City corners that Real deal with well.

As you were. It has been intriguing more than exciting. But City's one-goal lead remains intact.

City have to dig in here, show what they're made of. Otherwise, Benzema & co. will dust them off. Either way, intriguing second half in store!

    Jonah in Stockwell

This is City's best defending line-up. If Real Madrid can penetrate it, City have got problems long term.

Casemiro thinks he should have a free-kick on the edge of the box after falling following a City challenge.

The ref wags his finger at him like he's a naughty child.

Soon after Casemiro is in the box, challenging with Aymeric Laporte and is again furious when what should be a corner for a flick off the City defender is given as a goal kick.

These late flags really do make it hard to sum up a chance sometimes.

Karim Benzema is put in on goal and fires wide of the far post. But it doesn't matter one bit because the flag goes up for what was a pretty clear offside.

Casemiro should be off, two of the most obvious bookings you will ever see.

I'm concerned that this ref is being too easily conned by the 'streetwise' Casemiro....

Evans Njomo: If City don't increase the lead Madrid will win it at the end. They have a knack of winning these crunch games.

Unlike last night if Real Madrid score first they win! Our Man City need to ensure that doesn't happen.

Boos from all around the ground!

Vinicius Junior is trying to get goal side of Kyle Walker to get on the end of a ball forward. He goes down after being leant on by the City defender. No free-kick.

It was Luka Modric's pass forward. Could have led to much worse for the visitors.
