It is the same midfield as in 2018 that beat Liverpool for Real Madrid. The interesting thing is the right-hand side. I think Federico Valverde will be a bit more disciplined in helping out Dani Carvajal.

Former Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini, who is now Real Betis boss, admits he is surprised his former club got through any of the last three rounds.

Madrid needed to come from behind to beat Paris St-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Speaking to BBC's World Football Show, he said: "Real Madrid have the most important thing you need in a football team. They have individual players who can decide games.

"Maybe if PSG had scored more goals [they would have beaten Real] but they didn't. Chelsea exactly the same. Manchester City too, especially in Manchester. The difference between the two teams was much more than one goal [in the first leg].

"I was surprised the three of them didn't beat Real Madrid the way they played.

"Liverpool are a very good team but Real Madrid have the experience of finals. I don't think there's a favourite team for the final."

If Liverpool play at full intensity on Saturday then they "could blow this Real Madrid side away" in the Champions League final.

That's the view of BBC Radio 5 Live Euro Leagues journalists Kristof Terreur and Guillem Balague, who previewed a mouthwatering battle between two of European heavyweights in Paris.

"Jurgen Klopp is all about intensity," said Terreur. "They have the capacity to blow this Real side away, and that's what you'd expect them to do."

And Balague agreed. "If Liverpool do what they normally do, then Real will struggle," he said.

"Their defence will drop deep and their midfield also. They are a worse team than Liverpool - no-one will argue that. Some of the football they played to reach the final was terrible."

Balague did strike a cautionary note, though, after Real produced three stirring comebacks to beat Paris St-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City.

"They have so much quality and they will not give up," he added.

"It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If Liverpool go two goals up, they need to make sure they score a third."

Bad traffic in the area meant several BBC reporters were cutting it fine...

That is the hardest I have worked in the last 15 years. I have never walked or run so quickly in my life. No surprise that we beat Chris Sutton here. Once again he was trailing in our footsteps.

There are no surprises on the Liverpool team. The only question marks were the injuries. If everyone was fit that is the team I expected. Fabinho and Thiago are two brilliant players.

Liverpool will need Thiago's skill and vision to play those passes to try and get in behind. It is huge news for Liverpool.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires told BBC World Service: "Hopefully we'll see a great game. Liverpool have great players, the manager is fantastic. I love the fans.

"The difference between the teams is maybe experience. Real Madrid have won this trophy a lot of times."
