Things are really looking up for Leicester...

The Foxes have won each of their last four games in all competitions for the first time since January 2021 (run of five), while the Foxes have won three consecutive games in European club competitions for the third time in their history.

Having failed to keep a clean sheet in their previous nine games in all competitions, conceding 17 goals during that time, Leicester have kept clean sheets in three consecutive games for the first time since February 2021.

Brendan Rodgers celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BT Sport: "It was a great win, against a team that a lot of people before had said had scored a lot of goals. To restrict them to one shot on target shows how collectively the team had to work very hard. We scored two fantastic goals. So yeah, a really enjoyable game and a really good win.

"They were bright and we were loose with our passing early on. We gave the ball up cheaply and teams in Europe know how to look after the ball. We grew into the game after 15-20 minutes an got the goal. Barnesy was great down the left side and he created the goal for Marc.

"I said to the players before that whatever the result at the end of the game it is only half-time. I also said to them about the game last night - the PSG v Real Madrid game. Talk about being 2-0 up. For me it is a scoreline of endurance. You still need to endure, stay focused and suffer a little bit. That is what we will need to do next week. We know we have the quality to win there too.

"This was a really tough draw for us against a really good side. I thought the players were fantastic. The concentration level was very good. We have good speed in the team to counter. We put attacking subs on to still threaten their back line."

    Leicester City

Former Leicester midfielder Robbie Savage on BT Sport: "Leicester need to win the competition to get into Europe again and they have a great opportunity. There are still some big teams left but they have a chance.

"The impact of the substitutes for Brendan Rodgers was key - and the second goal was a beautiful finish."

  5. Eight goals in Eindhovenpublished at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2022

Mad game in Eindhoven tonight between PSV and FC Copenhagen in the Europa Conference League.

The visitors led 3-1 at one stage and you're thinking that is tie over, but PSV dragged it back to 3-3.

Copenhagen took the lead again before Eran Zahavi scored with five minutes to go to make it 4-4, and that is how it finished.

  6. 'We want to go the whole way'published at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-0 Rennes

    Leicester City

Leicester midfielder Marc Albrighton, speaking to BT Sport: "When you catch a ball nicely you do have an idea where it is going. I've cut across it and it has managed to find the top corner, so yeah, delighted.

We said it would still only be half-time at the end, whether we were up or down. There is still a big 90 minutes to play over there and it will be difficult, but we have put ourselves in a good position.

"Work-rate and patience. We showed it against Leeds at the weekend. We showed courage without the ball. We had to rat around a bit. We have that spirit back.

"We were rushing passes in first 15-20 minutes, but once we got a grip... I wouldn't say we dominated the game but we had spells of being comfortable. To get the two goals is great. This is a competition we are aiming to win. But these are a top team doing well in their league. We want to go the whole way."

Rennes are not a bad side at all. They showed as much at the start.

But Leicester possessed that extra bit of quality. The two finishes for the goals - from Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho - were superb.

    HUGE GOAL!

Leicester win the ball to set themselves away. Youri Tielemans slows it down to find Marc Albrighton, who then sets up Kelechi Iheanacho. The striker is calmness personified, sending a low shot into the far bottom corner to give the Foxes a strong grip on this tie.

Could well be the defining moment of the tie.

The changes keep coming. Ademola Lookman and James Maddison on, Harvey Barnes and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall off. Maddison should certainly offer more control in midfield.
