Now Sevilla want a free-kick for what they think is a handball by Pablo Fornals to block Jesus Navas' cross. The referee holds firm and signals for play to carry on in the face of a whole stand behind the goal on it's feet screaming at him.

More solid defending from West Ham as Tomas Soucek tracks Oliver Torres before tackling the midfielder in the box as Jesus Navas' chipped ball finds his feet.

Looks like Bounou is going to be OK for now. That would really have been inflicting some bad luck on Sevilla if their keeper had had to depart the game too.

Play is stopped so Sevilla keeper Yassine Bounou can get some attention. Looks to be a problem with his ankle.

There's a lot coming down Sevilla's right. Jesus Navas might be getting on in years, but he sure still can deliver a ball.

Attack is the best form of defence for the Hammers, who immediately get down the other end and force a low save out of Yassine Bounou through Nikola Vlasic's low shot.

The Sevilla keeper does well to come out and punch away the resulting corner.

The home team are having a moment.

Jesus Navas' cross is met by Youssef En-Nesyri but headed just wide.

This is another good chance for the home side!

Munir is the man who puts a low shot past the post after being found by Youssef En-Nesyri. It's a poor strike considering how well-placed he was. He could even have taken another touch, such was the space around him.

It's getting lively in here now. The home fans are bouncing away behind one of the goals.

Sevilla try to do the same as the Hammers in a more advanced area, but Lucas Ocampos can't control the big booming cross-field ball and it skips out for a goal-kick.

Such is the quality of Ben Johnson's booming cross-field ball, Aaron Cresswell takes time to applaud it after chesting it down. It was a fine pass, even if it didn't gain many yards.

Sevilla move the ball about nicely in the West Ham half but the Hammers are disciplined. They shift well as a unit across the pitch, closing down options for the man on the ball.

I think David Moyes will be reasonably happy with this opening 20 minutes. They are growing into the game. One big chance each so far.
