  1. Champions League for West Ham would be 'unbelievable'published at 19:26 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00 BST)

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

When Moyes first came in they were fighting in the relegation zone.

Their running stats were the lowest in the Premier League and he’s got them up there. Every player they have brought in has been really smart; they have spent their money really carefully and are getting the best out of the players.

The potential to get them to a final which could lead to Champions League football is what West Ham fans want. To do that would be unbelievable.

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00 BST)

West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt have met once before - with the Hammers beating the German side in the 1975-76 Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final.

Trevor Brooking scored twice in their 3-1 win at Upton Park, the last time the Hammers played a German team.

They lost the final to Anderlecht.

    Leicester v Roma (20:00 BST)

Marseille and Feyenoord play in the other Europa Conference League semi-final tonight and Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, who initially said he didn't know anything about the tournament when the Foxes dropped from the Europa League into it, feels the competition – in its first year – is already growing.

“It’s prestigious, all four teams will want to win it,” said Rodgers.

“It’s a fantastic occasion against a top-class team. To get to the final we will do everything we can. It’s another symbol of our growth as a club.”

  4. 'It's nice to test yourself against the best'published at 19:20 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner says it is “extraordinary” to be in the semi-final of the Europa League and is looking forward to taking on West Ham.

After inspiring a shock victory over favourites Barcelona in the quarter-finals, he says his side is travelling to London for the first leg in good spirits.

“We have to produce our best performance and, as usual, we’ll be playing to win in the first leg,” he said. “The team’s in good shape and we’re going into it with a lot of confidence.”

Glasner recognises some similarities between his side and the Hammers as he aims to mastermind a route to the final.

“They’re doing really well and are not dissimilar to us in terms of their approach. They’ve very compact, strong physically and like to get the ball up front quickly.

“They’re also very dangerous at set pieces. It’s nice to be able to test yourself against the best and, like us, West Ham deserve to be among the last four.”

  5. 'Moyes has belief in his squad'published at 19:18 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00 BST)

    David James
Former West Ham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

What David Moyes is doing now is focusing purely on getting to the Europa League final and winning it as his route into the Champions League, because qualification via the Premier League is out of his hands.

He’s got belief in that squad. The squad have got belief in themselves and I’m just thinking of London Stadium hosting Champions League football next season. That would be awesome.

  6. Leicester have 'greed' for more trophies - Maddisonpublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

    Leicester v Roma (20:00 BST)

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison tells MOTDx's Craig Mitch about the Foxes' desire for more trophies - and also discusses his love of snooker on a trip to the Crucible Theatre.

  7. Listen: All About Moyes - boss opens up on West Ham careerpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00 BST)

David Moyes has done an exclusive interview with BBC Sport's Simon Stone.

He talks about why he thinks the Hammers were wrong to sack him in 2018, his delight at returning to London Stadium and how much he's enjoying building something special for supporters.

  8. Moyes has been working late this weekpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00BST)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the London Stadium

I was fortunate enough to interview David Moyes this week at West Ham's Rush Green training complex.

Moyes was generous with his time and offered a superb insight into his view on management and what is happening at the club.

It was reasonably late in the afternoon when he finished - and then he went straight back to analysing tonight's opponents.

Little wonder he doesn't think most fans have a clue how much time being a manager takes up.

  9. 'A big achievement'published at 19:09 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

    Leicester v Roma (20:00 BST)

    Ricardo PereiraImage source, Getty Images

Ricardo Pereira scored Leicester's late winner in their 2-1 quarter-final second-leg win at PSV Eindhoven earlier this month and recognises the magnitude of tonight's game.

He said: “It’s the first semi-final for the club and we have the opportunity to arrive in a final in European competition, it’s a big achievement. We are all aware of that and that’s why it’s a big game for us.

“We have a bit of a taste of winning a competition (the FA Cup), that helps us but I don’t think it’ll be a major difference (against Roma).

"They have good players who play in national teams, like Sergio (Oliveira) who plays with me [for Portugal], so it won’t make any difference.”

  10. Antonio relishing 'biggest game of our lives'published at 19:06 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00 BST)

    AntonioImage source, .

West Ham striker Michail Antonio says he does not feel nervous but admits it is "one of the biggest games of our lives".

Speaking on the Footballer's Football podcast, Antonio says confidence is high among the Hammers squad.

"We've got to get our mentality right and then go out there and do what we've been doing," he said. "We believe we can win it, so hopefully we can.

"I don't get nervous - maybe a tiny bit just before kick-off - but as soon as that whistle goes, I am raring to go."

With the first leg at London Stadium, he wants to exploit home advantage and take a lead into the second leg in Germany next week.

"We're at home so we want to use that to our advantage," he said. "We've all seen the clips of their fans and know the atmosphere out there will be crazy.

"Hopefully we can have a great atmosphere at our ground and put a good divide between us and them.

"When that whistle goes, we will be raring to go."

  11. Defensive boost for West Hampublished at 19:01 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00 BST)

The return of Kurt Zouma is a major boost to West Ham, who were in danger of having only one fit centre-back.

Zouma, Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna returned to training but it wasn't known if they'd be back in time. Only Zouma is.

Craig Dawson would have been the only senior central defender otherwise.

"It’s always better to make sure they’re right. We’d only put players out if they’d trained and we thought they were fit and ready," boss David Moyes said earlier this week.

"I won’t rush anybody back. We could do with some central defenders getting fit, but unfortunately that’s the way it’s been and we have to live with it. We’re needing all hands on deck."

  13. The story so farpublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

    Leicester v Roma (20:00 BST)

Leicester are playing in their first ever European semi-final tonight and what an adventure it has been so far.

Winning the FA Cup and finishing fifth in the Premier League last season took them into the Europa League but the Foxes just missed out on the knockout stages, coming third in their group to drop into the Europa Conference League.

Their journey so far has taken them to Italy, Poland, Russia, Denmark, France and the Netherlands with Italy to come again next week. Will their campaign end by lifting the trophy in Albania?

  15. Zouma's backpublished at 18:48 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt (20:00BST)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the London Stadium

A major bit of West Ham team news.

Kurt Zouma had been thought of as a major injury doubt after picking up an ankle injury that forced him to miss Sunday's defeat at Chelsea.

But Zouma is included at the London Stadium this evening, partnering Craig Dawson in central defence.

  16. West Ham and Leicester seasons on the linepublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 28 April 2022

Brendan Rodgers and David MoyesImage source, Getty Images

When West Ham and Leicester started off in the Europa League in September, they had one eye on the Premier League with some of their squad selections.

But that's changed now - with the success of their seasons going to be judged on Europe.

The Hammers and Foxes are both 180 minutes away from European finals.

West Ham host Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-final first leg, and Leicester are at home to Roma in the Europa Conference League.

Welcome to live text commentary of those two.
