Well it took a little while to get going but we ended up with 15 goals from our five matches.

It was yet another night for away sides - West Brom the only hosts to avoid defeat.

So much for the return of fans making a difference! Joking aside, it's been great to hear them back.

    West Brom 4-0 Sheff Utd

A chastening night for Sheffield United.

West Brom had more fight and quality all over the pitch and the winning margin should've been wider.

As it was, a Jack Robinson own goal plus goals from Dara O'Shea, Alex Mowatt and Callum Robinson saw them home with ease.

The Baggies are top of the Championship while the Blades are without a goal or win in the league.

  4. CLOSE!published at 21:49 British Summer Time 18 August 2021

    West Brom 4-0 Sheff Utd

Every time West Brom have a set-piece they get a huge goalscoring chance.

On this occasion it breaks for Semi Ajayi, who just can't sort his feet out as the ball hits him and dribbles just wide.

We're a minute into four minutes of stoppage time.

Kieron Freeman whips in a cross from deep but it's too long and drifts harmlessly behind for a West Brom goal kick.

Sheffield United heads are down - they've been exploited in both penalty areas tonight.

Finally all over at the Riverside after the clock passes the 100-minute mark!

A superb match that swung one way then the next and back again.

QPR get the better of it with the odd goal in five and also hang on with just 10 men for more than 40 minutes.

    Nottm Forest 1-2 Blackburn

Blackburn maintain their unbeaten start but Forest remain without a point after their third successive 2-1 league defeat.

Second-half from Daniel Ayala and Darragh Lenihan proved enough for Rovers.

Philip Zinckernagel had levelled with a vicious strike for the hosts, who finished with 10 men after Jordan Gabriel's late red card.

    Hull 0-1 Derby

Wayne Rooney's Derby have their first Championship win of the season.

Sam Baldock only signed on Tuesday but scored the winner from close range.

The Rams deserved the points after an impressive first-half display, and they held on resolutely to see the game out.

    Birmingham 0-2 Bournemouth

All done and dusted at St Andrew's.

Far from a classic for the most part but Bournemouth had the strength and belief in the closing stages as goals from Dominic Solanke and Jaidon Anthony secured another win for Scott Parker.

Birmingham fall to a first defeat of the season.

    Jaidon Anthony (87 mins)

    Game over.

Bournemouth look to have sealed all three points here as Jaidon Anthony nets his first senior goal.

Ball found its way to him inside the penalty area on his right and he half-volleyed it into the roof of the net infront of the travelling fans.

Isaiah Jones again in the thick of it for Boro.

    West Brom 4-0 Sheff Utd

What must Slavisa Jokanovic be thinking?

He's won promotion to the Premier League with Watford and Fulham but the start of his reign at Sheffield United could hardly have gone worse.

Oli McBurnie and Oliver Burke are on but it's too late for them to avoid defeat here.

  20. Postpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 18 August 2021

    Middlesbrough 2-3 QPR

Could and probably should have been 4-2 to QPR moments after their third goal.

Chris Willock again causing headaches after he combined with Charlie Austin and his goalbound effort is somehow hacked away by Boro as it creeps towards the line.
