I've enjoyed it but I'm nervous about tomorrow. I am confident though.

I think the Italian style suits us more than the Spanish, they play a bit more like a Premier League team. It will be more of a frenetic game. They will press you at times and drop off, whereas the Spanish are very patient and play possession-controlled football. The Italians winning suited us.

Declan Rice's old school teacher believes his "bubbly and infectious character" is one of several reasons why the country has fallen back in love with the England team.

For everyone at Grey Court School in Ham, it will be a proud moment if Rice plays tomorrow - and especially for head of PE Steve Willmore, who taught and built the school team around him.

"I haven't seen change, and I mean that. He is the same bubbly and infectious character, with a good sense of humour," Willmore told PA.

"It has not got to him and he is genuinely a nice human being. He came back in around 18 months ago for a visit.

"To have seen this young man grow up and go to the top knowing he started his journey at Grey Court just inspires so many of the kids."

It's a little bit nerve-wracking even for someone like myself who has played for all those years, I do feel those fan nerves.

I don't usually get too carried away when I watch England or Liverpool, I try and keep my emotions in check, but during the last couple of games I haven't. It's really got to me!

I've been nodding and kicking every ball.

Former England captain Terry Butcher says Gareth Southgate is the "perfect" manager.

"If you're looking for role models, he's perfect; if you're looking for how to be a manager, he's perfect.

"I hope someone does a documentary on Gareth. Someone should do it now and say, 'Right, this is how you should lead teams, this is the identikit of the modern football manager - whether it be at club level or international manager - this is it' because he does everything right."

When you speak to people, everyone likes someone different [in this England squad]. In past years it was who didn’t you like the most. For them to have the success is great and everyone is on the same page.

Counting down the hours...

Gareth Southgate knows he is one win away from joining the late Sir Alf Ramsey - England manager in 1966 - as the only men to guide their country to major honours.

"We can win it, but we've got to get it spot on to win it," said Southgate.

"I said to the players yesterday, people are respecting how they've been and that they've represented the country in the right way, but now they have a choice of what colour medal.

"We know the size of the challenge, but what a brilliant challenge for us to have and what a brilliant opportunity for the players to write one more piece of history.

"I know it won't be enough for me and for the rest of the staff and for the players if we don't win it now."

Roger: This tournament the superstition has been not to have any superstitions. In the past it was lucky pants, shorts, chair, but this year I have consciously done none of that and so far it is working!!!

If England win, they’ll be remembered forever. They will put themselves amongst the names of greats. All of a sudden we have a wonderful crop of players who we can be proud of who will be remembered forever if we win it. The scary thing is so many of them are just starting their careers. Could this be the springboard for the world cup next year? You just don’t know. It puts them in a realm of greatness that the players probably don’t understand. They will be spoken about 50 years from now.

Jim: I've cooked burgers for my wife and I at home home for each England match up to now. We had a table booked in the pub to watch the Final but have decided it's too risky so it's going to be burgers and match at home again for the final!
