    There was a B-side to Euro '96.

While Three Lions backed England's giddy run to the semi-finals, another song soundtracked the comedown.

It was picked by TV producers Craig South and Jonathan Sides.

Tasked with putting together a montage of England's tournament, the pair chose Cast's Walkaway, a Britpop lament for lost causes and bitter ends, for the closing music.

Their work doesn't exist anywhere online.

But for a generation of England fans, that riff instantly brings to mind grey shirts on a dark night, trudging away from what might have been.

Thousands of schoolchildren will be allowed to arrive later on Monday so they can watch the Euro 2020 final.

Ahead of an anticipated late night on Sunday, some schools will allow pupils more time in bed to recover.

Caroline Reed, headteacher of Rossmere Primary School in Hartlepool, did not want worries about an early start to dampen their enjoyment of the game.

The school also said it noticed more absences than normal after England's extra-time win against Denmark. More here.

Harry Kane says England have bonded with the public by being "normal lads" who hope to fulfil childhood dreams.

"I think it's the biggest game in my career so far and probably the biggest game of all of our careers so far," he said.

"You dream of these moments as a kid - lifting trophies for your country. And we have that opportunity now.

"These are the opportunities you have to grab with both hands."

GB wheelchair basketball player Terry Bywater is preparing for his sixth paralympics but will be supporting England this weekend.

He told BBC Sport: "I watched the semi-final against Denmark with a couple of the other GB players – that last 15 minutes my heart was beating so fast – I’m getting too old for it!

"We’ve watched the games together all tournament because we’ve been in camp, but the emotion during the Denmark game was something else.

"England are in a major final – how lucky are we to be alive at this time? Imagine it does come home, what will the country be like? I don’t know if I can handle it.

"The team we have is exciting and is bringing the nation together and if we can play for an hour like the last 25 mins against Denmark, I think we can get a few goals. Whether it is a scruffy and horrible 1-0 and we scrape over the line or a 5-0 win, I don’t care.

"As a Middlesbrough fan, I’m really proud that it is Gareth Southgate with the whole nation on his shoulders, and he will hopefully carry us to glory."
