Brentford 0-0 Oldham Athletic
Brentford win an early penalty as Carl Piergianni fouls Yoane Wissa.
Takumi Minamino
That didn't take long.
Takumi Minamino is so sharp in the box, turning and firing in past Angus Gunn after Divock Origi heads down a corner.
So much for a back three making Norwich solid at the back.
Norwich 0-0 Liverpool
Good atmosphere at Carrow Road. It has been a rough old start for City but the fans are still in good voice it seems.
Liverpool win an early corner but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can't beat the first man.
Plenty of games, hopefully plenty of goals and a lot of entertainment.
We have a moment of respect first for one of England's greatest ever goalscorers, Jimmy Greaves, who died on Sunday.
And then the 10 League Cup games get under way.
Fulham v Leeds (19:45 BST)
Fulham and Leeds were both promoted back into the Premier League two season ago, but as the latter soared, the former sank, returning to the Championship once more.
The Cottagers got their quest for another quick return to the top flight off to a decent start, taking 16 points from eight matches, leaving them second in the table. However, their progress has been checked a tad by two defeats in the last three, including to Reading on Saturday.
Leeds' only win this season was in the second round of the Carabao Cup, at home to Crewe. Granted, the only games they have lost have been to Manchester United and Liverpool, but they could still do with some victories, to ease the concerns amongst an expectant fanbase.
Man City v Wycombe (19:45 BST)
Manchester City start their Carabao Cup title defence - for the fourth season in a row - tonight.
The only winners of the cup since 2018 take on League One Wycombe.
Manchester United are the only team to beat City in the tournament since January 2016 - while Wycombe haven't won an EFL Cup game in 90 minutes since 2006.
City usually play a stronger team in the cup than most Premier League giants, but Pep Guardiola has named a younger side tonight.
"We are going to play a few young players," said Guardiola.
"Some players must rest for the three games we have ahead of us. I don't have another alternative."
QPR v Everton (19:45 BST)
This is an interesting one, could it be where the big shock of the night emerges?
Everton have plenty of injury issues to deal with and were well beaten 3-0 in Saturday's Premier League game at Aston Villa.
QPR started the season well with three victories and three draws, but have since suffered back-to-back defeats.
Brentford v Oldham Athletic (19:45 BST)
On paper, this should be a banker.
Brentford are ninth in the Premier League and Oldham are bottom of the entire Football League.
Oldham fans have protested in recent games against the club's ownership.
Keith Curle is the club's ninth manager since the Lemsagam family took over in 2018.
"There's no such thing as a free hit in life," said Curle.
"I think that it's an opportunity to go out and put on a performance, individually and collectively, that we're proud of.
"Whether that be at Sutton away or Brentford away, the mindset should always be wearing the shirt with pride and put in a performance that you as an individual are happy with."
Norwich v Liverpool (19:45 BST)
The only silverware Norwich have won in their 119-year history is the League Cup, doing so twice - in 1961-62 and 1984-85. By reaching the third round this year, they have already bettered what they managed in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
On top of that, the Canaries or on an eight-game winning run at Carrow Road in this competition, with their last defeat on their home ground in the League Cup being a 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the quarter-finals in 2012-13.
Getting another win on the board tonight would be such a huge boost for everyone down there.
Norwich v Liverpool (19:45 BST)
Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "Some players could not play again immediately so we had to make changes. The reasons are always the same - you want to win the football game. You want to bring boys in with desire. The opponent made a lot of changes as well so it is that time of year. I am really looking forward to the game. It will be intense."
On Kaide Gordon: "He spent a full pre-season with us. He is a big i talent, no doubt about that. A top, top talent. I am excited to give him the opportunity. You will see he is a good player immediately."
Norwich v Liverpool (19:45 BST)
It would be fair to say that Norwich and Liverpool have had starkly contrasting starts to the Premier League season.
The Canaries return to the top-flight was always going to be a tough one, especially when the fixture list spat out an absolute horror first few games against some of the division's true elite.
Saturday was a real hammer blow, though, with a 3-1 home defeat to fellow promoted side Watford leaving them rock bottom with five losses out of five.
On the flip side, Liverpool have 13 points from their five games, leaving them second and only an away goal from matching league-leaders Chelsea's record.
Could the Canaries, though, see this as a welcome respite from the league and play with more freedom and less fear? Or is that just a big old cliche?
Sheffield United v Southampton (19:45 BST)
Sheffield United manager Slavisa Jokanovic has changed his whole team as the Blades welcome Premier League side Southampton, with summer addition Adlene Guedioura making his first start.
Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl hands a debut to Brazilian defender Lyanco among nine changes to his line-up. Oriol Romeu and Nathan Redmond keep their places, while James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams are among the options from the bench.

Brentford v Oldham (19:45)
It's a vast switch up for the Bees who have opted for a younger team and an experienced bench of Toney, Raya, Ajer and Mbuemo if they should need them.
Oldham remains troubled both on and off the pitch as they name a limited bench due to injuries.

Norwich v Liverpool (19:45 BST)
Norwich City
Norwich boss Daniel Farke, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are flexible. I think we played many of our pre-season games with a back three. You want to be flexible in the game. We have conceded too many goals in the opening games. Yes, we have played some tough games but it was the same 30 years ago and will be the same in 30 years - you have to be solid at the back. Hopefully we have found the right solutions."
Wigan v Sunderland (19:45 BST)
League One's top two meet at the DW Stadium, though both teams are largely unrecognisable from their games on Saturday.Wigan, who went top at the weekend thanks to a 4-1 win at Accrington, have made nine changes and Sunderland eight.
