    Tottenham 1-0 Aston Villa

Son Heung-min has caused Villa's backline problems all game and leaves Ezri Konsa for dust but then takes a touch too many and Emiliano Martinez can smother the shot.

    West Ham 0-1 Brentford

It feels like the enforced change midway through the first half because of Shandon Baptiste's injury has had a negative impact on Brentford's play. They are not quite as at it as they were in the early stages and mistakes are creeping in now as West Ham continue to dominate.

  3. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Aston Villa

Matty Cash opened his account for Villa in superb fashion a couple of weeks ago but this time his effort is dragged wide.

He should have withdrawn when he thought about the shot.

If it was on target, there was no saving it.

    Any more?

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:14 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Aston Villa

    Tottenham turning the screw now.

Harry Kane feeds the ball into the six-yard box but Son Heung-min strikes wide.

Or was it Ezri Konsa with the sliding challenge?

Either way, a goal kick is given.

Son Heung-min cannot find the target today, another effort blazed over.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:12 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    West Ham 0-1 Brentford

West Ham keep on pushing as David Raya has to be alert to push over Said Benrahma's well-struck free kick.

A test for Brentford's resolve now.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Leicester

Palace come even closer this time.

Everything Odsonne Edouard has touched in an Eagles shirt had produced something and the Frenchman almost pulls a goal back, outpacing Caglar Soyuncu and ghosting past Jannik Vestergaard but then smashing his shot against the crossbar.

He should really have scored having done all the hard work.

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Leicester

Wilfried Zaha searching for his 50th Palace goal in the Premier League, skipping onto his right peg but blazing over.

That would have been a fantastic goal. Emerson drives into the box and dinks it to the back post and the volley from Son is just over the bar.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:10 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Aston Villa

A number of chances for Spurs in quick succession.

Son Heung-min, the best player on the pitch, forces Emiliano Martinez into a save low down and Emerson Royal thumping follow up is blocked by Tyrone Mings in the six yard box.

The hosts recycle it and work it back into the box towards Son, but he vollies over.

  11. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    West Ham 0-1 Brentford

The first half started in bright sunshine but now there's rain as West Ham pick up where they left off at the end of the first half, showing attacking intent.

We're back under way at West Ham.

  13. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Aston Villa

Fans are pouring (no pun intended) out of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium into the concourses to take cover from the lashing rain that is starting to fall in north London.

Funny if their side score and they miss a goal.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Leicester

Within seconds of the restart, Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans is booked for a sliding challenge on James McArthur.

Fantastic play from Aston Villa, working it from side to side. They spot the space out wide with Matt Targett who has a crack at goal, Romero gets his body in front. Great defending there.

Nick: Breathless stuff at West Ham. Brentford spraying it around cool as you like. Deserving of the HT lead despite a late resurgence from the home side. Non-stop action.

  18. CLOSE!published at 15:04 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Aston Villa

And Villa almost come up with the quality.

Emerson Royal's header at the far post is very poor, landing at the feet of Matt Targett, who shot is on target, but Cristian Romero does brilliantly to slide in and block on the line.

Aston Villa have got the quality to get back into it in the second half. If they are going to do that they need to get Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings on the ball and try to get the Tottenham defence turned because they have been quiet.
