So if the linesman puts his flag up for the offside it never gets as far as the penalty . . they're told not to, but then can't use the fact he was offside?

Phil Foden has a shot blocked by Lewis Dunk.

  7. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Brighton 1-3 Man City

I wondered earlier if this would be a game of Phil Foden chasing a hat-trick but this is the first thing he's done in 30 minutes... and it almost is the third goal but it's straight at Robert Sanchez.

    Brighton 1-3 Man City

Kevin de Bruyne has a couple of passes into the box cut out as Brighton try to stay in this.

This is actually quite a rare City attack.

Let's get this right, as a result of a player gaining advantage through being offside, an offence that warrants a free kick. Play is allowed to go on...... Resulting in a Penalty, please explain, especially as VAR was designed to stop this. Not a fan of VAR by the way.

City bring on Riyad Mahrez for Gabriel Jesus. They take their time making the sub.

    Brighton 1-3 Man City

Tariq Lamptey jigs his way into the box, beating three or four City players but then his shot is well wide.

A second Brighton goal would make this VERY interesting.

At half-time it looked like it was going to end 6-0 or something but Brighton have done so well in the second half. They deserve that goal.

Manchester City are definitely shaken and Ruben Dias fouls Solly March.
