Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Sky Sports:"Excellent. In the first six or seven minutes we let them have too much of the ball. But the experience came through. It was the oldest team I’ve picked for Manchester United and it was time for it.

"I’ve been here three years as manager and Tuesday’s training performnace by Edinson Cavani is the best performance anyone has put into a training session here. The old men led from the front.

"They play well together. They have loads of respect for each other. The work-rate and quality they put in is second to none.

"The [players] play for the club no matter what. It’s not about me. It’s about us improving as a group."

This was United's biggest away league win against Spurs since February 2007, when they won 4-0 at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham have now lost two Premier League home games by at least three goals this season (also 3-0 against Chelsea).

They had only lost by such a margin at home once in the seven previous campaigns combined (3-0 against Liverpool in 2014-15).

Tottenham haven’t had a shot on target in their last two hours and 16 minutes of football, since Harry Kane’s effort in the 44th minute against West Ham.

This was the first time Spurs have failed to have a shot on target in a Premier League home game since December 2013 against Liverpool.

John: We need to keep two up front all the time. It suits the team and suits the way they're set up to counter attack. Ronaldo/Cavani may be the Rolling Stones of the Premier League but they play like prime Oasis. Same team next weekend? Definitely (Maybe...)

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to BBC Sport: "Of course when you come off the pitch winning 3-0, keeping the ball away from our goal - David de Gea didn't have a save to make - that's pleasing. In football sometimes it goes for us and sometimes against.

"We worked on this this week. The boys were brilliant, they took it on board.

"Raphael Varane is a top player. He reads the game well. He's quick and so experienced. To get him back is massive for us.

"Great goals, all of them. The first one is the major one. What a pass from Bruno [Fernandes] and Cristiano [Ronaldo] is the best. If he misses one he's still as focused for the next one. What a goal. If he's not up there when all these balls come in, I don't know.

"We've built this performance on hard work, discipline and keeping the ball away from our goal. Spaces will open up especially if you get the first goal.

"The first goal always decides how the game goes.

"We've got a hard week again. Champions League game then City. We've got to digest this one and be ready for Tuesday."

Does this result mean they can move on from the Liverpool game? "Of course it doesn't. That's always going to be in the history books - one of the darkest days. A dark spot on our CV. But football becomes history so quickly.

"The experience of Edinson Cavani and Cristiano is massive. We need it. We can't hide. The week has been difficult for all the players. They really stuck at it. Exprience counts in situations like this."

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs captain Hugo Lloris told Sky Sports: "I think it was quite OK until we conceded the first goal. In the second half there were too many mistakes with the ball.

"With two or three passes [Manchester United] created chances and they scored two more goals. At points we were too naive in the second half.

"We expect more. We expect more belief. More pride.

"This is not the first time [we have played this poorly], even at home. We expected more against Chelsea.

"The next target is Thursday. We need to reanalyse and find some good.

"It's not a good moment at all. We concede too much, we don't score enough, we don't create enough.

"But I want to believe in the club and myself and my teammates.

"We've only played 10 games in the league, but there's too much up and down. In one game we go through so many emotions.

"We seem to always go down. Confidence is key also."

[On supporters booing at full-time] "When you're a professional you expect critics. The fans expect more from us, but this is not the moment to give up, this is the moment to stick together.

"But also we need to find the solution to move on."

Manchester United

Manchester United goalscorer Marcus Rashford told Sky Sports: "It's obviously been a difficult week, it is for any team when you don't win. We've responded the only way we know how. The staff, the players all want to win.

"Playing for Man Utd there's always pressure, you have to learn to enjoy it. Part of playing for this club is to come out of difficult moments. this club has always bounced back.

"I think [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's] prepared for the team we're playing against. We all have to buy into what the manager tells us to do. Today that helped us come away with the three points.

"There's more to come [from us]. As long as we keep improving, keep picking up points, we'll see where we are come the end of the season."

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo to Sky Sports: "Poor performance. Not too many words. We didn't play good. United were stronger than us.

"We conceded in poor ways, lost balls, allowed counter-attacks. We couldn't break them. They were organised.

"The last pass was never there, the finish was never there. Bad performance."

How can they improve? "Trying, supporting players, finding solutions. No other way. We have to work harder.

"We have to take the best of all our players. Not focusing on Harry [Kane]. We have to support them, help them, try to make them believe they're better than today."

On fans booing: "We are not on the right track. This season is part of football. The fans suffer when you're not performing well. They have showed they're not happy. We keep on trying."

Matt: Delighted for Ole after a week of total overreaction. Hope Utd stick with him for the season.

Mohammed: Would anyone want to be Spurs manager at this stage? Seat is doomed for failure.

Spurs have scored their fewest number of goals after 10 Premier League games since 2013-14 (also 9).

They have gone one and a half league games without a shot on target. They didn't even have a shot in the second half against West Ham last week.

Nuno is the second Spurs manager to lose five of his opening 10 Premier League matches in charge of the club, after Christian Gross.

Gross didn't last a year in charge (November 1997 to September 1998).
