  2. A big day for Swans against Terrierspublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

Swansea City v Huddersfield Town (15:00 BST)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea City were beaten Championship play-off finalists in May but, after a turbulent summer, the early stages of this campaign have not been easy.

While Steve Cooper, the man who led Swansea to the play-offs in each of the last two seasons, starts life as Nottingham Forest boss today, Swansea are still trying to find their feet under his successor.

Russell Martin has won only one of his first eight Championship games and is in need of a victory this afternoon.

But Huddersfield were the only team to do the double over Swansea last season, and have made a bright start to 2021-22.

  3. Rams look for positives at Sheff Utdpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 25 September 2021

Sheff Utd v Derby (15:00 BST)

Despite Derby's off-the-field financial troubles, things have been relatively stable on the pitch for Wayne Rooney's side all things considered.

However, with the club going into administration this week, the Rams are now bottom of the Championship table.

They travel to Bramall Lane having not won there in almost 11 years, with their most recent win coming against the Blades in Feburary 2011.

If they can pull off a win today, they will be back in positive points having started the day on -2 due to their points deduction.

Can Forest Green Rovers continue their impressive start to the season and extend their four-point lead when they host Tranmere?

Unbeaten in four and second-placed Leyton Orient will hope they slip up when they host Mansfield.

Orient are level on points with Harrogate Town who could jump up to second with the right result against Stevenage.

Elsewhere, Exeter City in fifth travel to Hartlepool in sixth, who are also level on points with both looking to underline their credentials as promotion contenders this term.

Meanwhile in Greater Manchester, Rochdale host bottom-placed Oldham who have several issues to contend with off the field as well as on it.

The Latics have won just once in their eight games so far and are already three points adrift at the bottom.

Leaders Wigan will be looking to make it five wins on the bounce as they host Cheltenham at the DW Stadium this afternoon.

Hot on their heels in second only on goal difference are Sunderland, who welcome Bolton to the Stadium of Light.

Just outside the top two and two form horses are MK Dons and Plymouth who host Wycombe and Doncaster respectively.

Rovers will be hoping to spring a surprise and record a second win in as many games to haul themselves off the foot of the table.

Meanwhile, a couple of other fixtures that might have graced a Premier League Saturday in years gone by see Charlton host Portsmouth and Ipswich entertain Sheffield Wednesday.

Let's look what we've got to look forward to this afternoon, then.

    FT: Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

So, Reading up to eighth on the back of that, a pleasing outcome after a tough start to the campaign.

Boro still waiting to show their potential, but there was much to take away from that for boss Neil Warnock.

Much more to come this afternoon too, and to take us up to kick-off in the 15:00 BSTs, here's Jay Freeman.

    Reading celebrateImage source, Rex Features

    The Reading revival continues...

Alen Halilovic put them in front on the back of some lovely football from John Swift and their desperate rearguard does enough to seal the points.

Boro beaten, down to 10 men in the end after Matt Crooks' dismissal. Neil Warnock not happy.

Character shown by both, and for the Royals - forget the off-field tribulations, Veljko Paunovic will be delighted by that.

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Boro do well to win a corner, good work from Marc Bola down the left and then Toyosi Olusanya.

    Paddy McNair sweeps it in.

Head tennis results in Luke Southwood beating it behind.

Ball in from the right... JOE LUMLEY?! Ohhhhhhhh, just wide. The keeper so close to powering that in for the Teessiders.

  14. Postpublished at 90+9 mins

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Junior Hoilett is receiving treatment by the side of the field and has been for the past two minutes or so.

Got a brush off the arm of Paddy McNair, and went straight down. His conk is streaming blood to be fair.

George Puscas preparing to come on.

Fair bit of added time here...

  15. Postpublished at 90+7 mins

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough right now: Trying to get the ball forward, trying to tee up chances. Going for it.

Reading right now: Welly it anywhere.

Meanwhile, Junior Hoilett down on the deck. Receiving treatment.

  16. Postpublished at 90+6 mins

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Boro laying siege to the Reading goal. Dael Fry and Paddy McNair trying to bolster the ranks but despite some decent flick-ons and pressure, they cannot quite get it drop.

Reading clear up and Junior Hoilett gets a foul to ease the concerns.

  17. Postpublished at 90+3 mins

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Six minutes added by the way, and more will follow for the Dejan Tetek substitution.

Boro still have a sniff. But Paddy McNair's verbals have earned him a booking from Peter Bankes.

  18. Postpublished at 90+1 mins

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

As you might imagine, Neil Warnock, Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson on the Boro bench are a shade of puce right now.

Meanwhile. Reading race forward at the other end, Dejan Tetek sweeps in a cross for Ovie Ejaria which is blocked brilliantly by Lee Peltier.

Tetek down after that and is keen to come off. Something is wrong. Michael Stickland is about to come on.

  19. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Regardless of the red card, that was a superb save from Luke Southwood. Reading's goalkeeper was hugely brave there. Went in among the boots and got the ball.

    Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough

Matt Crooks sent offImage source, Rex Features

Matt Crooks challenges a 50-50 ball with Reading goalkeeper Luke Southwood in the box, on the edge of the six-yard box, and collides.

It is enough to tempt the red card out of Peter Bankes' pocket.

He has to go for that as a striker, and the collision is just unfortunate. Feels harsh.
