Fair enough Roonie. Albeit Denis Law's move to Manchester City from Manchester United in 1973 was in very different times.

And he had played for United for over a decade at that point. Still I bet Cristiano Ronaldo would get in a few Premier League fantasy teams.

Roonie: United fans being angry at the [Ronaldo] transfer are ridiculous. There is literally a statue of Denis Law outside Old Trafford. Juventus made it clear he wasn’t in their plans, if he wants to continue to play at the top he needs to do whatever he can. United should have bid.

  4. 'Mbappe wants to go to Real Madrid'published at 07:47 British Summer Time 27 August 2021

Meanwhile, the other biggie as far as the transfer window is concerned is very much the tug of war between Paris St-Germain, Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid.

Feels a bit like an auction where the reserve price has not been met yet.

One man who is staying at his club is Harry Kane and the Tottenham captain was in action last night.

He made a goalscoring return to the Spurs side grabbing a brace in the Europa Conference League group stage game against Pacos de Ferreira.

They will discover their group opponents later on Friday.

I'd heard a couple of months back that Cristiano Ronaldo fancied a move back to Old Trafford this summer. But will he be heading over to the club on the other side of Manchester if he returns to the Premier League?

A transfer to the current champions, looks a good shout most of the time but at 36 would it do the trick for the player and Manchester City?

And what if anything will it do to his standing in the eyes of Manchester United fans?

Let us know your thoughts and how things have gone when a hero from your club has later signed for a rival.

  8. Ronaldo and Mbappe futures in doubtpublished at 07:28 British Summer Time 27 August 2021

We are shaping up for an incredible end to the transfer window.

I was told late last night that Cristiano Ronaldo has told colleagues at Juventus that he is leaving the club this month.

Juventus are adamant they have received no bids for the Portugal superstar - Manchester City are adamant they have not made one. Feels like a bid will only come when a deal is in place.

Then there is Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid are not giving up on the France World Cup winner.

If he goes, PSG might be in for Ronaldo - or Paul Pogba.

It's not going to be quiet.

  13. Could Ronaldo really end up at Man City?published at 07:08 British Summer Time 27 August 2021

He's one of the greatest players of all time, but with a year left on his contract Juventus are prepared to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester City are one of the clubs to have made contact with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, with some reports suggesting personal terms have already been agreed.

It raises the previously unlikely possibility that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner could play for the city rivals of Manchester United, the English club for whom he starred under Sir Alex Ferguson between 2003 and 2009, and for Pep Guardiola, a manager synonymous with his great rival Lionel Messi.

Are we set to have this man back in the Premier League?
