Only Coventry have earned more home points in the Championship this season than Stoke, who have won four of their five games at the bet365 Stadium so far.

They have broken down a quality side in West Brom a couple of times already tonight and came inches away from an opener.

A lot of sloppy passes in midfield are preventing further chances from being created at the moment.

The ball is a bit of a hot potato for Albion. They're trying to play too quick and that's why they keep giving the ball away.

After a strong start from West Brom and a great reaction from Stoke - who hit the post through Jacob Brown - the two teams are cancelling each other out a little.

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is one of a number of players who have remained at the club in the hope of going straight back up to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old also continues to be called up by Gareth Southgate for England, having been named in the squad this week for World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary.

That must give him a huge amount of confidence.

Both teams are playing with three at the back, which is leading to lively battles between chasing forwards and covering defenders.

Baggies' Semi Ajayi is the latest to put in a great tackle to thwart another good run down the left for Stoke.

Callum Robinson is having a game of pinball with the Stoke defence.

He gets away not one, or two, but three shots towards the target.

All are blocked at close range.

It has to be said that there was a deft backheel and a glorious reverse pass in that move that resulted in Tymon shooting.

Stoke do actually play some great football, you know?

Stoke are growing into the game.

There's nothing like a bit of ritual in football.

Stoke City still walk out to their winning 1972 League Cup final song 'We'll Be With You', written by Tony Hatch and local girl Jackie Trent.

That's then followed by the old Stoke classic 'Delilah', which, as it starts to fade away, gets drowned out by the Albion away fans signing 'The Lord's My Shepherd'.

Then it's time for the players to take a knee, which gets a more thunderous round of applause than usual, perhaps in the wake of this week's jailing of a supporter for racist slurs made at West Bromwich Albion's on-loan Stoke City midfielder Romaine Sawyers.

Even with probably a slightly disappointing crowd here, it all adds up to a fabulous atmosphere. And the exciting start Stoke have made has hardly diluted it. The fact that they should by now be one up has NOT lessened the noise!

The towel is out for a long throw from West Brom's Darnell Furlong.

It's a full size beach towel, too.

No beaches near Stoke, mind.

Sadly from a Baggies perspective, however dry the ball might be, the throw doesn't trouble the Potters defence.

That was close! Jacob Brown is put through on goal and hits the post.

He gave the keeper the eyes and it looked for all the world as though the net was going to be found.

Callum Robinson now pops up on the right and has time to deliver a pull back. This time, it is an easy gather for Stoke goalkeeper Adam Davies, though.

The Ireland international has been the go-to man so far.
