Solskjaer sacked
Manchester United
More from former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville: "They have to make sure they get the next one [managerial appointment] right.
"I think Mauricio Pochettino, though he would never say it, would leave to come to Manchester United on a five-year-deal tomorrow. I don't think the PSG model suits him.
"I do think Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] was the right appointment taking over from Jose Mourinho. I do think he has set the ship off in the right direction."

When they bought Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane, I thought Manchester United had a real chance. They've got brilliant players in attack.
But they don’t have a spine in midfield. Man Utd haven’t got that drive at the moment. Ferguson had Bryan Robson, Paul Ince and Roy Keane. Who do United have?
It's a busy day for football writers in Manchester. Shall we get a bit more reaction to the news Ole is no longer at the wheel?
HT: Man City 1-0 Everton
Manchester City have scored 12 first-half goals in 12 games, only Liverpool (16) and Chelsea (14) have scored more in the Premier League this season.
No Premier League player has more assists in all competitions in November than Joao Cancelo (5, level with Trent Alexander-Arnold).
Man City 1-0 Everton
Decent by City. Everton have work to do.
Man City 1-0 Everton
Everton have a free-kick right at the end of the first half. It's driven in by Andros Townsend but it's straight into the arms of Ederson. That's the most the City keeper has had to do in the opening 45.

It is a fantastic finish, but not as good as the ball in. It is inch perfect from Cancelo, and when Sterling is in form, those of the sort of things he manages to pull off. That was really high class; he opens his foot and there is perfect contact.
Man City 0-0 Everton
Is Joao Cancelo the best left-back in the Premier League right now?
That was a gorgeous pass. Outstanding from the Portuguese.
Raheem Sterling
Deadlock broken on the stroke of half-time. And what a beauty.
Brilliant vision by Joao Cancelo to find Raheem Sterling with a superb pass with the outside of his boot and the winger produces a top finish inside the box to give England team-mate Jordan Pickford no chance.
Really lovely stuff.
Man City 0-0 Everton
Eight attempts, three on target, hit the bar, one penalty awarded and then overturned...but no goals.
Man City 0-0 Everton
Richarlison has had six touches so far. He's also picked up the game's first yellow.

If it is clear and obvious, I don't know. To the naked eye, there was contact, but they've turned around and said there is something amiss.
Man City 0-0 Everton
Boos ring out around the Etihad. City have been denied a penalty. That has not gone down well with the locals at all.
Man City 0-0 Everton
Stuart Attwell eventually leaves the pitch to look at the monitor.
He returns but the news is not good for City.
The penalty has been overturned. Pep Guardiola is now having a go at the fourth official.

Stuart Atwell took his time. Keane lunges in; he thinks Sterling is going to shoot. Everton can't complain if you make a lunge of any sort and the player goes down; you are giving the referee a decision.
Man City 0-0 Everton
This is a LONG check.
Man City 0-0 Everton
Michael Keane on Raheem Sterling.
Stuart Attwell points to the spot but was it in the box?
VAR is looking at it.

It was a good save by Pickford, he got out quick but didn't commit. But that is a real opening for City, they've been probing and that is the first example of them going through the middle.
