"We brought maybe a higher intensity than Leeds and created many chances to score two goals and we deserved to win.

"Leeds, in the first half, they played very well, with intensity, were aggressive and won a lot of tackles. They were also faster on the ball. "In the second half we changed the plan tactically and I’m pleased because I had a good answer from players.

"From the first minute of the second half the situation was changed, totally. The players were good and confident to play the ball."

Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"In the first half we played better, in the second half they did.

"The difference in the second half was bigger for them than we managed to achieve in the first half. I think the result was fair.

"Perhaps if we had drawn the game it would have been a prize for what we constructed in the first half. But as the second half went on they increased the differences compared to us.

"Even with our absences we played the way we wanted to in the first half. But not being able to play that way in the second half was a problem."

On his decision to play Kalvin Phillips at the back: "Harry Kane is a forward who likes to drop to pick up the ball. Of our defenders Kalvin is the best to take up that role to deal with him when he drops. He did very well.

"It's likely we will have more players back next weekend."

Antonio Conte has won each of his last 17 home league games as a manager, with the previous 16 all coming with Inter Milan. The Italian has won his first home league match with each of his last five clubs (Siena, Juventus, Chelsea, Inter, Spurs).

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, speaking to Sky Sports:

"In the first half we struggled a lot. Physically, tactically and in our intensity we struggled.

"I think in the second half we changed things and we wanted to play with the same intensity as Leeds.

"Before the game I was a bit afraid to know after three weeks the physical condition of the players. If they'd be able to play for the full 90 minutes with the intensity of the second half.

"I am very pleased, in the second half we deserved to win, we created many chances to score.

"I said to my players this is a point to start. If we want to build on this.

"The feeling of the crowd depends on us. In the first half we didn't play well, we lost many tackles. Maybe to concede the goal in the last minute of the first half was good.

"At half-time the players showed me they could win this game.

"In the second half I corrected the situation. I look at the stats and Leeds are the best in the league for running. In the second half we beat them in intensity.

"We won the game, we deserved to win. We played attractive football and the crowd was with us.

We have the confidence, it's a great feeling. We want to keep changing, we want to change everything."

Leeds United

Leeds boss Marceloa Bielsa, speaking to Sky Sports on playing Kalvin Phillips in the backline:

“He played very well. In the second half when he played centre back he played well even if it was less minutes than the first. I thought he was the best player to go with Harry Kane when he drops to pick up the ball.

"At the same time I thought Diego Llorente was best player to follow Son Heung-min's diagonals."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, sacked by Manchester United, has done an interview with MUTV.

“I have had the opportunity," he says. "I am so honoured and privileged to have been trusted to take the club forward. I really hope I leave it in a better state than when I came.

"I made great friends, have reconnected with some great friends and new staff coming in, I have become really good friends with. The other staff that were there, we are good friends and we have reconnected.

"That is what it is about at a club like this with the fans. The fans have been amazing, from day one at Cardiff to the last one now. And we’ll see each other again."

Antonio Conte is facing TV. He is sporting a huge smile.

"We struggled a lot in the first half," he says. "I spoke with the players and we changed the plan. In the second half we deserved to win."

Dan James became the fifth player to score for both Leeds United and Manchester United in the Premier League, after Rio Ferdinand, Alan Smith, Eric Cantona and Lee Sharpe.

Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips, speaking to Sky Sports:

[On playing in defence]: "To be honest I don't know why he did it. We wanted to be more defensive with their attacking threat. Me and Liam Cooper went man for man marking.

"It worked really well in the first half. But in the second half it's just a lack of concentration that hurt us.

"We needed a better game management. We were 1-0 up in the second half trying to push for a second goal. It's those moments you probably need to pump it long and soak up the pressure.

"We are missing some very good players in our team, some very important players. It's not an excuse, although we did come here and play some good football.

"I'm not one for panicking. The way we play football we'll eventually stack some more points on the board."

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s equaliser for Spurs was their first goal in the Premier League since Son Heung-min scored in first-half stoppage-time against Newcastle on 17 October, ending their run of 372 minutes of play without a goal in the competition.

"We put in an amazing effort. We are so happy and so, so tired.

"For me I dream always of scoring goals. A few times I have been close [to scoring for Spurs], but today I scored for the team and we got three points. I’m really happy.

On the first half struggles: "The first half was bad for us, also Leeds started really good. At half-time the gaffer said that we have to go with everything. We had a great mentality to win the match.

"The gaffer told us to go man for man and to attack with everything and also defend."

On the second-half improvement: “That is the thing that every fan wants to see."

Leeds United

Kalvin Phillips is asked about starting the game in defence: "To be honest, I don't know why he [Marcelo Bielsa] put me there," he tells Sky Sports.

Tottenham goalscorer Sergio Reguilon, speaking to Sky Sports:

"I am the most happy in the world. It's my first goal in the Premier League and we get three points. Now we continue.

"When we attack, I have to have the mentality of the striker, that's what the manager wants.

"Now, I feel dead, but I am also so happy as well.

"At half-time the gaffer told us to go man for man with extra effort. We gave it everything. This is the way now.

"Our mentality is like a big team. We get the three points.

"The players, we know we needed to give more [in the second half]. We focused on the game and kept going."

Spurs now plan for a trip to Slovenia to face NS Mura in the Europa Conference League on Thursday before playing Burnley at Turf Moor next Sunday.

Leeds are 17th in the table - two points above the relegation zone.

Their next game is at Brighton next Saturday.
