And that just about does us for a stellar night in the English Football League with twists and turns at the top and bottom of the Championship.

So then, with this midweek round of fixtures done and dusted, how do things look at the top?

Well Fulham have cut down Bournemouth's lead at the top of the Championship after their record-breaking win at Blackburn, combined with the Cherries' defeat by Preston.

Meanwhile, West Brom keep pace with their win over Hull and QPR move into the play-off positions.

West Brom's unbeaten record at home is safe for another night, with Karlan Grant's goal securing them all three points over Hull.

Hull are leaving it late but they're sending ball after ball into the West Brom box in added time, and it's bouncing all over the place except into the net.

Three minutes of regular time to go and Karlan Grant almost had his second goal of the night. He gallops through on goal in acres of space, but drags his effort wide of the post.

They're inside the last 10 minutes at the Hawthorns and it has been fairly comfortable for West Brom since they got that opener from Karlan Grant.

Hull, meanwhile, are yet to record a shot on target and will drop below Barnsley into 23rd if it stays this way.

Barnsley fans could not have wanted that whistle to come any more.

That's a massive, massive victory for the managerless Tykes, who have finally got their first win since August.

A much-needed Stoke win comes to fruition against an off-the-pace Blackpool side.

Steven Fletcher's late goal gives the Potters all three points and they move into the play-offs.

It's all over at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Andre Gray's first-half goal the difference in south Wales.

Cardiff have now picked up just one point in their past 10 matches and lost seven in a row at home.

QPR move up to fifth as it stands.

Despite absolutely pelting Preston with chance after chance late on, North End keeper Daniel Iversen keeps Bournemouth at bay.

And as such, the league-leading Cherries' unbeaten run this season comes to an end as Preston record a stunning victory.

A miserable night for Blackburn comes to an end. Or should that be a sensational night for Fulham?

Either way, Fulham steamroller their way to victory against 10-man Blackburn, who had Jan-Paul van Hecke sent off in the first half.

It's seven heaven for the visitors.

How are Bournemouth not back on level terms against Preston?!

Daniel Iversen makes a fine first save to deny Jack Stacey as the Cherries desperately try to maintain their unbeaten record.

But it's the follow-up that's sensational as he instantly uses his foot to deny Jamal Lowe on the rebound from point-blank range.

Lowe probably should have buried that though.

We're into the final 10 minutes at Oakwell and it's lively. Have Derby got enough left to find an equaliser? Or could this be the night Barnsley end their seven match losing streak and start to turn their season around?
