    QPR 2-0 Luton

Luton started the half so brightly but the award of a soft free-kick, which QPR ended up scoring from, is a real kick in the teeth.

The Hatters have strikers Danny Hylton, Admiral Muskwe and Cameron Jerome on their bench.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 59 mins

    QPR 2-0 Luton

And another yellow. This time for QPR.

Midfielder Andre Dozzell leads with his elbow while challenging for a header with Allan Campbell.

It's a certain booking. Some refs may have considered a red, but I think a caution is enough.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 58 mins

    QPR 2-0 Luton

Elijah Adebayo is the third Luton player to go into the referee's book.

He fouls his man while jumping for a header and Matt Donohue seems to suggest the yellow is for an accumulation of offences.

  4. goal

It's a second for QPR against the run of play and it's Charlie Austin who nods home.

A free-kick out wide is cleared but from the second phase, Jimmy Dunne heads back across goal for Austin to stoop and calmly score.

QPR boss Mark Warburton delighted by that.

Luton captain Sonny Bradley was booked in the lead up to the goal - the visitors need to keep their heads.

  5. Postpublished at 53 mins

    QPR 1-0 Luton

A dribble, a stepover and a sprint from Luton's Fred Onyedinma ends with the wing-back lashing over from range.

The Hatters have come quickly out of the traps after the break.

  6. CLOSE!published at 51 mins

    QPR 1-0 Luton

The Luton fans thought they'd scored - and they should've!

From the corner Tom Lockyer's header is cleared off the line but another cross comes in, with Kal Naismith heading into the side-netting when unmarked from close range.

From their angle, Luton supporters thought the ball had gone in. But not to be.

  7. Postpublished at 49 mins

    QPR 1-0 Luton

James Bree surges down the right for Luton and his low cross is well blocked by Lee Wallace.

    The visitors win a corner.

Two weeks is an incredibly long time in football, so let's run you through some of the big Championship stories you might've missed over the international break:

Let's use half-time to both look back, and forward, at some goings-on across the Championship...

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2021

    QPR 1-0 Luton

It's been fast-paced, packed with half-chances and with plenty of noise from the stands at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Chris Willock scored the only goal with a fine dink over Luton keeper Simon Sluga, who will perhaps regret rushing off his line.

Harry Cornick, Fred Onyedinma and Elijah Adebayo have looked threatening for the visitors, so there's still work to be done for Mark Warburton's QPR.

One minute has been added at the end of this first half.

The pace and noise levels have died down a little bit, which is to be expected after such a high octane first 35 minutes or so.

QPR have had 59% of the ball and are tending to look after it a bit better than their opponents.

  16. Postpublished at 41 mins

    QPR 1-0 Luton

Elijah Adebayo tries to bend one in for Luton from the corner of the box but it lacks precision and power as Semy Dieng catches the ball.

He might've been better off looking for a team-mate there, as that was a bit speculative.

  17. Postpublished at 38 mins

    QPR 1-0 Luton

It's often said that playing three at the back isn't an attacking setup.

However both these teams are doing exactly that and it's been a breathless half of football thus far.

It just shows, it's more about intensity and mindset than formations...

  18. Postpublished at 33 mins

    QPR 1-0 Luton

Mark Warburton's hosts are playing with a nice mix of craft in the middle and crossing ability from out wide.

Wing-backs Lee Wallace and Albert Adomah put a couple of decent balls into the box but Luton's defenders deal with them well.

Here's how Chris Willock put QPR ahead, calmly lifting the ball over Simon Sluga while under pressure from a Luton defender.

Nathan Jones will be reasonably pleased with how his side have reacted to falling behind, though.

Luton back off Charlie Austin but the QPR striker's powerful shot is wayward.

The R's are unbeaten in their past 13 home league matches with the Hatters, and only Coventry have more home Championship points than them in 2021.
