    Iceland 0-1 France

    Jonathan Pearce
    Football commentator on BBC Two

We haven't seen any discord between France and I remember sitting in an airport lounge, they had just beaten England and they were bickering amongst each other.

You'd never had thought they've won.

  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Italy 0-0 Belgium

Agnese Bonfantini is coming on for Italy for the second half, replacing Lucia Di Guglielmo.

The television camera shows us the delightful Manchester sunset. A massive 45 minutes ahead here. One goal will change everything.

Netherlands boss Mark Parsons is here watching. His side will play France in the quarter-finals and I wonder what he's felt about their performance so far?

On the one hand they've been restricted to the one goal. On the other hand they are winning despite making six changes...

    Iceland 0-1 France

Off we go again in Rotherham.

  5. 'Belgium shaky at the back'published at 21:02 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    HT: Italy 0-0 Belgium

    Lucy Ward
Former Leeds striker on BBC Four

Belgium look shaky at the back and I think it's because Sari Kees is having to play at centre-back. She looks more comfortable in the central midfield position that Italy are not targeting.

Iceland are through regardless IF Italy versus Belgium ends 0-0.

If that game finishes 1-1, Iceland and Belgium will be split on goal difference, then goals scored, then disciplinary points, then coefficient.

If Italy-Belgium ends in any draw apart from 0-0 or 1-1 then Iceland must win.

    Clear? Thought so...

  7. 'Belgium not on Wullaert's level'published at 20:58 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    HT: Italy 0-0 Belgium

    Lucy Ward
Former Leeds striker on BBC Four

The intensity is quite low and the quality of the passing is quite low from both teams.

I think at times Belgium have got themselves going with their passing and movement, and then it's broken down. They have to look at testing Wullaert who is probably their best player.

I don't think her teammates are quite on the same wavelength as her at times.

  8. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    HT: Italy 0-0 Belgium

Belgium are shading the possession stats, but it's Italy who have offered slightly more in terms of efforts on goal.

The Azzurre have had six shots, with two on target, compared to four attempts but just one on target for Belgium - who have touched the ball just twice in the Italy box.

    HT: Iceland 0-1 France

    Laura Georges
Former France international on BBC Two

This is what the coach wants, players coming in and showing all their talent.

Melvine Malard has been playing as a centre-forward at Lyon but compared to Marie-Antoinette Katoto she gives the ball quickly, she won't hold onto it too long. She takes the ball and likes to shoot straight away.

    Iceland 0-1 France

    Gary Rose
BBC Sport at New York Stadium

Iceland fans clap off their players after they became the first side at this tournament to restrict free-scoring France to just the one goal at half time.

The French have been hugely impressive so far, but haven't scored in the second half of a game and that will provide Iceland with some encouragement because they really don't want to be relying on what happens in the other game.

There's been some cracking sunsets at Euro 2022. Here's another. That's Etihad Stadium behind the stand. It's starting to cool down a little and it's everything to play for in the second half as far as Italy and Belgium are concerned. The three-horse race for Group D's runners-up spot is going down to the wire.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Italy 0-0 Belgium

That is all for the first half in Manchester.

Nothing to separate Italy and Belgium, but the door is wide open for them both with Iceland trailing.

    A huge second half ahead.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Iceland 0-1 France

Melvine Malard's first minute goal is the difference at the break, but Iceland have had chances.

  14. Postpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Italy 0-0 Belgium

Italy are ending the half on top as two minutes of stoppage time are shown on the board.

Enough time for one more attack...

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:43 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Italy 0-0 Belgium

Worth a shot. Manuela Giugliano realises she has space and time around 25 yards from goal, looks up, and picks her spot. Her attempt is well hit but it's comfortable enough for Nicky Evrard.

    That's closer, though!

Italy come again and this time Barbara Bonansea flashes a shot across goal which Evrard is able to push away to safety. Almost.

    Iceland 0-1 France

    Sue Smith
Former England international on BBC Two

Berglind Bjorg Thorvaldsdottir looked so disappointed with that - she knows it was a real opportunity. The goalkeeper makes a right hash of it but it's coming at her quite quickly.

    That's a chance.

  17. CLOSE!published at 20:42 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Iceland 0-1 France

    Iceland should be level!

What a chance for Berglind Bjorg Thorvaldsdottir at the back post as the ball comes to her following Pauline Peyraud-Magnin flapping at the back, but the Iceland striker cannot convert.

It came quickly and was at an awkward height, but she still should have done better.

  18. Postpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Iceland 0-1 France

That booking might prove costly later in the night.

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

There is a scenario where bookings could decide who goes through...

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Iceland 0-1 France

A real striker's challenge as Berglind Bjorg Thorvaldsdottir goes hurtling in behind on Charlotte Bilbault, bringing the French midfielder down and earning a booking.

  20. Postpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Italy 0-0 Belgium

There appears to be a promising opening for Belgium as Tine De Caigny bursts down the pitch with the ball - but her attempted pass forward is poor. A lack of composure in the final third is hampering both sides.
