Two teams sussing each other out as they work out what comes next.
Newcastle have gone more direct, which is perhaps a good ploy when you have 10 men. But the home fans are cheering every tackle and block as Eddie Howe's side try to keep it goalless before the break.
Given the shocking start to the game, that would be an achievement of sorts.
Newcastle 0-0 Norwich
Free-kick to Norwich on the left but Billy Gilmour's cross is headed away. About 10 minutes until the break.

Eddie Howe has done a decent job here. He had a massive change to make early on but he’s gone for a 4-3-2.
There are much more negative ways to approach this.
Newcastle 0-0 Norwich
Much better from Newcastle. Joe Willock shows a wonderful turn of pace on the left to beat two defenders and square it for Callum Wilson, who shoots over from near the penalty spot. It gives the home fans something to shout about.

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira, speaking to Amazon Prime about making changes this evening: "A bit of freshness, we have a squad of players who when you have games every three or four days you need to rotate.
"Some of the guys have been doing well as well in training, so it is an opportunity. With the way we want to play, the front three doing a lot of hard work, this is as well why we wanted to make changes because we have to work hard out of possession."

totwittowoo: Hard not to view Ciaran Clark as a poster boy for this brittle, under-invested #nufc side. An embarrassment of a 'professional' footballer.

Norwich have been passing the ball quite nicely, but there’s no real pace and no massive chances.
It's really disappointing that they haven't taken the game by the scruff of the neck.
Newcastle 0-0 Norwich
Max Aarons whips in a cross from the right and a header is saved. Actually it hits Javier Manquillo's arm first before reaching the keeper.
There is a VAR check but no penalty.

Leeds United
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, speaking to Prime Video, is asked about Tyler Roberts, yet to score this season, and says: "He is the centre-forward in the team tonight and you always expect the centre-forward to score but the important thing if he doesn't score is his contributions allows others to score."
On the threat Crystal Palace pose at set pieces: "Every game the set pieces is something we take into consideration and tonight is the same."
There's another game coming up too...

Fabian Schar jogs off with the physio so he should be fine. Yep he's back on. Just as well because there are no more centre-backs on the bench.

Joelinton’s much better in that position behind the striker. If you play him up front, I just don’t think he’s got the game for it.
Coming from a deeper area, he can be very powerful and very dangerous.
Newcastle 0-0 Norwich
Fabian Schar is down injured now and needs treatment. Will Newcastle have any centre-backs left?
