Ash Williams: United didn’t deserve that goal. They’ve been shockingly bad.

Khan Karn: That has to be an OG? Probably would have missed had Lascelles not blocked it. So cruel on Newcastle who have been miles better than Man U.

Lewis Chapman: Cavani is by far United's best player and it's not even close

You worry for Newcastle a bit now. Alex Telles plays a ball across the six-yard box which the home defenders don't deal with. Martin Dubravka goes down and Edinson Cavani tries to clip the ball over him but doesn't quite make enough contact so it loops up into the air.

Newcastle have conceded 80 goals in the Premier League in 2021, the most goals any side has conceded in the competition across a calendar year. The last top-flight team to concede more over the course of a year were West Brom in 1985 (87).

It was similar to the chance Cavani had before. He just peeled himself out there, waiting for the ball to come back.

You kind of got the feeling it would happen eventually for Manchester United but it's a real blow for Newcastle considering they had two big chances in the second half.

    Edinson Cavani

Manchester United have a leveller they do not deserve.

Diogo Dalot is free down the right and crosses for Edinson Cavani.

His shot is deflected by a defender but the ball comes right back to him. And with Martin Dubravka on the ground, Cavani pokes the ball into a near-empty net.

Sho: We've made Joelinton look like Zidane today, it's embarrassing.

Was David de Gea too confident there? Jacob Murphy curls a cross-shot just wide of the far post from outside the box.

De Gea seemed happy to let it go, but it was very close.

I think the reports of Cavani leaving in January are wide of the mark. He's one of United's most consistent performers when he plays. We need him - simple as that.

    David Rotherham, York.

Utd may well win this game but they are awful! If this carries on, Rangnick will be moved upstairs sooner rather than later and they’ll be looking for a third manager in a season.

David Irvine: So when are Man Utd players going to start to play for any manager. They are lazy, give the ball away too much and don't seem to care. If I hear another person say how good Fred is I will send videos of all the mistakes, giving the ball away, and petty fouls he makes.
