Again, every time you give the ball to Allan Saint-Maximin he runs at the defence, it was very tight.

The two centre-backs for Manchester United are not having a good time.

Newcastle have to be on the front foot, they are not good enough defensively to sit back.

Cristiano Ronaldo heads away the free-kick. The visitors try to counter but Marcus Rashford doesn't get the pass to Ronaldo right. A big let-off for Newcastle really.

Harry Maguire chops down Callum Wilson, then points to a spot on the pitch. Bad tackle, good... pointing?

Oh that's a shame for Newcastle as Allan Saint-Maximin overhits his pass to Callum Wilson, who was running in behind.

Newcastle deserve the lead, Manchester United haven't had any clear-cut chances. Saint-Maximin has been superb. Wherever he is on the pitch, he will chase and dribble.

He has been fantastic to watch and has made a great start to this game.

It's that kind of day for Manchester United. The ball loops up in the air for Cristiano Ronaldo and he half-volleys it... off his own chest, rolling out for a goal-kick.

Robin: Bruno is not a wide playmaker. Looks super uncomfortable out wide. Most passes in the midfield tonight are going backwards and sideways. Are they even listening to Rangnick or think they’re untouchable like under Solskjaer? There’s enough evidence now for me to show there are some rotten players at the club still.

Chris Lord: Well, regardless of Newcastle’s situation at end of the season, Saint-Maximin stays in the Premier League or top flight Europe.

It's not a complex formation Manchester United are playing at the moment, but it's not really working out for them.

When they try to do a high press it just does not work and one pass and they are through it in seconds.

Emil Krafth hurls in a long throw-in for Newcastle and the away defence look a bit panicky before Jamaal Lascelles concedes a free-kick.

Jonathan: If Newcastle pull this off and avoid relegation, a statue of ASM outside St James Park is a must.

Baby Boomer: So maybe Solskjaer was right. Not so much that Fred & McTominay are top class Premier League standard players, just that they are the best available from the 60 or 70 players at Old Trafford. Rangnick seems to agree with him.

Sho: These poor starts are pathetic and it's on the players. Used to happen under Van Gaal, Jose, Ole and now Rangnick. A lot of this squad are overhyped by the media and the fanbase.

The Newcastle fans are off their seats again. Jonjo Shelvey wins the ball midway through his own half, runs half the pitch and drills in a 25-yard shot which David de Gea punches away.

Scott McTominay needs treatment after being caught by Sean Longstaff in the build-up to that move.
