    BIG goal!

The home side are back in the lead as Stuart Dallas connects beautifully with the ball on the edge of the area following a short corner and the shot flies into the back of the net.

    Elland Road is absolutely bouncing!

    Back in it! (Again!).

What a performance by the youngster Anthony Gordon as he sweeps in a first-time shot from a cross from the right to give Everton hope again.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2022

    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

Inches from Brentford taking the lead.

Frank Onyeka does well to weave inside and out before looking to pick out the bottom corner, but Emiliano Martinez dives full stretch to his left to tip the ball onto the post.

That is a stunning save considering he has had nothing to do all game.

    Leeds 1-1 Burnley

Maxwel Cornet has definitely given Leeds something else to think about and this game is much more even now. Could go either way with quarter of an hour to go.

You can see the passes that Leeds are trying to make on the shoulders, trying to stretch Burnley, but Burnley are happy to just soak it up. Fascinating game.

    Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa

Not a great spectacle at the moment, all very disjointed from both sides.

    Alexis Mac Allister

    What a hit!

Again, a lovely move by Brighton as Dan Burn wins the ball, works it wide to Leandro Trossard, whose cross is flicked to Alexis Mac Allister on the edge of the area and the Argentine's rising effort gives Jordan Pickford no chance.

Everton had been better in this half but they have a two-goal deficit again.

Ben Mee trips Joe Gelhardt as the substitute threatens to race clear. Leeds fans scream for a red card but Wayne Hennessey was always going to get to the ball first.

Allan tries his luck from distance and he is not far off at all as Robert Sanchez has to dive at full stretch to push the long ranger over.

Much more defending to do for Brighton at the moment as they try to hold back a resurgent Everton side with just over 20 minutes to go.

Villa are threatening but can't find that final pass, thwarted by last ditch Brentford defending or just not being able to take the ball in their stride.

  16. Postpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2022

Seamus Coleman fires well wide after a short free kick. It is over two years since he last scored in the Premier League and that kind of shot highlights why.

It was a wonderful free-kick from Maxwel Cornet, brilliantly executed. It was quite some distance out.

Illan Meslier will perhaps be disappointed he didn't get to it.
