Swansea v Nottingham Forest (15:00 GMT)

Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper returns to the Liberty Stadium for the first time since leaving Swansea over the summer.

The return of their former boss could give the Swans the extra edge, according to their current manager Russell Martin, as the Welsh side look to rebound from back-to-back defeats.

Cooper, who took Swansea to the play-offs in both years he was at the helm, has guided Forest on an impressive run since he took over in September. He's taken them from the bottom of the table up to 13th, where they sit just above Swansea.

Swansea haven't won at home since their 3-0 victory over Peterborough on 30 October. Forest, meanwhile, have only lost once since Cooper took over - and that was to Championship leaders Fulham.

    Peterborough v Millwall (15:00 GMT)

Not exactly a season of cheer right now for Peterborough supporters with their side inside the bottom three and without a win in their past seven Championship fixtures.

Having also lost five of their past seven, Darren Ferguson comes up against Gary Rowett's Millwall this afternoon, another side on the fringes of the play-off places and hoping to put together some form to climb the table towards the new year.

The Lions may have lost just once in their past six matches but are without a win on the road in their last three attempts.

Can they take advantage of a winnable fixture?

West Brom v Reading (15:00 GMT)

A glance at the current Championship table may well hint towards a home banker in this one, but recent form might suggest otherwise.

Despite their recent off-field challenges with a six-point deduction, Reading have been enjoying some profitable returns away from home.

Back-to-back wins at Birmingham and Swansea have helped keep Veljko Paunovic's side above the bottom three while they've been without a victory in their past five home matches.

West Brom meanwhile have just the one win in their past five matches, at the CBS Arena against Coventry City last weekend.

Their last two fixtures at The Hawthorns have finished as draws and the Baggies will be keen to come away with all three points this afternoon to keep pace with the top two.

Bournemouth v Blackburn Rovers (15:00 GMT)

A tasty encounter in prospect this afternoon at the Vitality Stadium where two of the hottest hot shots in the Championship right now face-off.

Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke has 16 goals in 21 appearances this term, including a fine finish at Fulham last Friday, while Blackburn's Ben Brereton Diaz is just ahead of him with 17 goals from the same number of appearances.

Rovers arrive on the south coast unbeaten in their past five and face a Bournemouth side without a win in four but still just a point off the leaders Fulham.

Can they return to winning ways at a crucial time or will in-form Rovers continue to surprise and underline their play-off credentials?

  6. Fulham still the ones to catchpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2021

Luton Town v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

    Marco SilvaImage source, PA Media

Fulham may be on a run of three successive draws, but Marco Silva's side still sit pretty at the top of the Championship tree.

Unbeaten in 10, they travel to Luton after a deserved point against fellow promotion-chasers Bournemouth last Friday night.

That was a rare occasion when Aleksandar Mitrovic failed to find the back of the net, but the Serbia international is still averaging more than a goal a game with 21 from 20.

Luton meanwhile are slap bang in the middle of the table in 12th.

The Hatters have won just once in their past five and will be looking to avoid a third successive home defeat and the chance to keep pace with the top six.

What a game that was! The perfect way to get the day's football going.

Coventry certainly deserved the point but conceding so late is a sickener for the Terriers.

Right, it's a busy old day of EFL action so we will move on swiftly to the rest of today's fixtures around the country.

Let's take a closer look at some of the key games in the Championship, League One and League Two.

    Huddersfield Town 1-1 Coventry City

    GoddenImage source, Rex Features

A great game - although Huddersfield fans won't think so.

Coventry eventually get the goal that their performance more than merited.

They passed-up a host of chances and just when it looked like Huddersfield would hold on for three points, Matt Godden popped-up with a glancing header to equalise for the Sky Blues.

That goal means Coventry stay seventh but are now level with Stoke in sixth, while Huddersfield move up to ninth, four points outside the playoff spots.

    At last!

Matt Godden glances a header past Lee Nicholls and Coventry are level!

Jodi Jones supplied the left-footed cross and Godden got there just before the keeper to send the away support into raptures!

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 91 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

Duane Holmes, who is on a booking, heads off to be replaced by Josh Ruffels for the closing stages.

  14. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

Coventry have SIX added minutes to do what has eluded them all afternoon.

  15. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

A Sky Blues corner with four minutes remaining.

    Is this the chance?

    In short, no.

The Terriers are edging closer to seeing this out - and Mark Robins must be tearing his hair out.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 83 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

Coventry's Callum O'Hare is replaced by Jodi Jones for the visitors as they seek that all-important equaliser.

And he's straight into the action with a shot on target.

  17. Postpublished at 79 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

    How is this still 1-0?

Ian Maatsen is in space but sees his shot deflected over by the covering Matty Pearson and Michael Rose sees a header saved from the resulting corner.

  18. CLOSE!published at 75 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

I'm not sure how many times I've written Coventry have gone close this afternoon, but that's another mark on the tally.

Dom Hyam soars above the Terriers defence and heads wide with the goal at his mercy - that was one of the better chances they've had too - a big miss.

At the other end Matty Pearson then sends a header wide when he should do better.

I think shooting practice will be on the agenda for both sides next week, a bit more quality in front of goal and this could have been about 5-5!

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 70 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

Danny Ward - the match-winner as it stands comes off.

The experienced Fraizer Campbell comes on in his place - is he the man to get the second goal and secure the three points?

  20. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

It's still very open out there and the entire second half has been played as if it's the final five minutes of the game.

Chances galore but no second goal yet.

Neither side has a great deal of control and who will take the points here is still anyone's guess.

How do you see the final twenty minutes going?
