    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

    Yet ANOTHER chance for Coventry!

Dom Hyam gets up well and sends a header towards goal but it's tipped-over the bar acrobatically.

The Sky Blues need to take one of these soon or they will be leaving West Yorkshire empty-handed.

Hudds v CovImage source, Rex Features

It's been an eventful opening few minutes to the second half here to say the least!

Sky Blues keeper Simon Moore opts to punch when he really should catch, and ends up hitting it straight into his own defender and it deflects back towards goal...just going wide.

That would have been a bizarre goal to concede and how we haven't had a second goal I don't know.

Kyle McFadzean is adjusting his nose so I think he took that one flush in the face!

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 51 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

Coventry almost go two down and then go up the other end and hit the woodwork themselves!

This time it's Jamie Allen who goes close - what a start to the second half!

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 46 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

So close to 2-0 just seconds into the second half!

Duane Holmes breaks into the box and fires a shot across goal which is saved onto the post by Simon Moore in the Sky Blues goal.

    Fingertips!

Huddersfield lead by a single goal which came via Danny Ward's 18th-minute finish.

Before and after that, Coventry have been the better team and will feel unhappy to be behind.

They have missed some very presentable chances but will be confident that they can grab a goal or two in the second half.

The hosts will be pleased to be ahead and if they do win they will move up to eighth and within a point of their opponents.

  9. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2021

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

    Flashpoint!

Duane Holmes and Liam Kelly have a little disagreement which results in them both being booked.

Holmes' run forward was stopped by Kelly but with no foul given there is a bit of pushing and shoving between the pair.

Holmes is pushed over by Kelly but a booking each is probably the right decision by the referee.

    Let's move on lads...

  10. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

If it stays like this at the break then Mark Robins will just be telling his Coventry team to keep at it and the goal will surely come.

They have been the better side this half with more chances and the lion's share of possession, but find themselves a goal down to that lovely Danny Ward strike.

The hosts seem content to play on the counter and have looked a threat when they have ventured forward, as well as from set-pieces.

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

A set-piece causes problems in the Coventry back-line but they escape after a bit of pinball.

The corner is flicked-on as it's whipped-in and eventually falls to goalscorer Danny Ward, who sees his shot blocked and a foul then averts the danger for the hosts.

  12. Postpublished at 30 minutes

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

    Callum O'Hare goes close again!

A long diagonal ball finds the onrushing Todd Kane who sends it into the box to O'Hare who connects well but again it's straight at the Huddersfield goalkeeper.

Another chance goes begging for Coventry but they are playing well.

Half-an-hour in and it's been a very enjoyable match so far.

  13. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Huddersfield Town 1-0 Coventry City

Almost straight after the goal, Huddersfield do their best to give Coventry one back.

Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls rolls it out to a player under pressure who loses it to Callum O'Hare, who tries to chip Nicholls but doesn't quite get enough on it.

Big let off for the Terriers!

    Danny Ward (17 mins)

Lovely goal and the Terriers are in front against the run of play!

Harry Toffolo cuts a ball back to the edge of the box and Danny Ward watches it closely before guiding a left-footed effort into the corner.

It's a really well-taken finish, he didn't snatch at it, just took it nicely to put his side in front.

Coventry will feel hard done by but they will be confident of getting back into this one and almost do immediately...

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Coventry City

Returning Coventry skipper Liam Kelly tries his luck from distance and Todd Kane is putting in some dangerous balls with the visitors on top.

Huddersfield just having to soak up some early pressure but are looking a danger on the break too.

  16. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Coventry City

Great defensive covering by Fankaty Dabo!

Danny Ward finds space on the edge of the box for the hosts but Dabo comes steaming back and gets a vital foot in, in the nick of time to divert it behind for a corner.

Lively start from both, let's hope it continues that way.

  17. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Coventry City

It's been a good start by the visitors in their eye-catching away kit.

Matt Godden gets the first effort on target with a header but it's straight at Terriers keeper Lee Nicholls.
