  1. CLOSE!published at 13:29 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth midfielder Conor Grant decides to take the bull by the horns and launches a well-hit shot from distance which grazes the top of the bar and goes over.

Great hit and we're getting closer to a goal here - hopefully!

  2. Postpublished at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

Chey Dunkley is up from the back for a free-kick but his attempted bicycle kick connects with Brendan Galloway rather than the ball!

Looked like it could have been a painful on for the Argyle man but he shrugs it off and they're both friends again.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

Wednesday's Dennis Adeniran is the first man to go into referee Anthony Backhouse's notebook for a challenge on Danny Mayor.

Bit more intensity in the air at the start of the second half as Barry Bannan flashes a shot over the bar.

  4. Postpublished at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

The Gas have responded well to going behind to that early Matty Taylor goal.

Antony Evans goes close for Joey Barton's men with a shot which grazes the post.

    We have a goal!

Cameron Brannagan marks his return to the side by playing in Mark Sykes, who slides the ball across for Matty Taylor to tap home.

Great start for the in-form Yellows and Rovers are already up against it.

  7. Postpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Oxford United 0-0 Bristol Rovers

The first chance of the game falls to Oxford's Matty Taylor who gets on the end of Gavin Whyte's cross, but he can only head straight at James Belshaw in the Rovers goal.

This one kicked off at 13:00 GMT so it's very much in the early stages.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Goalless at the break.

They might struggle to put together a half-time highlights package such has been the lack of goalmouth action.

The game has been even and it has had a very cautious air about it rather than anyone really seizing the advantage.

Let's hope there's better to come in the second 45.

  9. Postpublished at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

Five minutes to go before the break and it's been a decent enough half with lots of endeavour but not enough quality in the attacking thirds.

Can anyone grab the opener before half-time - great time to score as they say...

  10. Postpublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

Oxford United v Bristol Rovers (13:00 GMT)

Bristol Rovers come into the game in decent form after a slow start to the campaign.

Their upturn in form has seen them rise up to 16th in League Two.

Here's the side Joey Barton has brought to the Kassam.

While we wait for the opener here, let's take a look at the team news for the second of today's first round games between Oxford United and Bristol Rovers.

  13. CLOSE!published at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

Another couple of half-chances go begging for Plymouth.

First, Saido Berahino gives away a free-kick which is floated into the box where Dan Scarr gets a head on it but can't direct it goalwards.

Then Panutche Camara sends a ball into the box which confuses Bailey Peacock-Farrell who is relieved to see a follow-up shot deflected wide.

  14. Postpublished at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

After 25 minutes this one is still bubbling away, without really coming to boiling point.

It's nice and open with both sides having a go, but we're waiting for the first real opening.

  15. Postpublished at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth goalkeeper Michael Cooper is called into action for the first time as he saves from Dennis Adeniran.

Saido Berahino does well to hold off a defender and find Adeniran's run.

He has a man free in the middle but chooses to shoot and it's a fairly comfortable stop.

  16. Postpublished at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

    It's warming-up nicely this one.

Plymouth are breaking with pace and causing problems from a series of corners.

Eventually goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell collects and the Owls go on the break.

  17. Postpublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

    Panutche CamaraImage source, Rex Features

Great work by Argyle's Panutche Camara leads to the game's best opening and it's all his own work.

Camara wins the ball in a 50/50 with Barry Bannan before racing up the pitch and into the penalty area.

The eventual shot is not strong enough but great work.

  18. Postpublished at 12:22 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

A slow start to the game isn't helped by the lack of a ball.

The players seem perplexed about where to find one but eventually one is found and we're back at it!

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

This all-League One clash is under way in the steel city after a minute's silence for the fallen ahead of Remembrance Day.

  20. Argyle make two changespublished at 12:12 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

Sheffield Wednesday v Plymouth Argyle (12:15 GMT)

Danny Mayor and Jordan Houghton come in for Ryan Broom and Adam Randell as Argyle manager Ryan Lowe makes two changes from last week's victory over Ipswich.
