    Norwich 2-0 Everton

Richarlison hasn't played in over a month, but surely he has to come on in the second half here? Everton need something... anything to inspire them.

    Newcastle 0-0 Watford

Newcastle are still putting balls into the box. Allan Saint-Maximin is seeing more of the ball too. Watford just keeping them at bay for now.

Would sacking Rafa Benitez solve the problem?

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Wolves 1-0 Southampton

And another great chance for Southampton! This time Nathan Tella somehow flicks over at the back post from mere yards out.

  5. 'Don't like to see play-acting'published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Watford

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don't like to see that, there's no need for it from Emmanuel Dennis. The game's good, there's good intensity and quality on the pitch, that sort of play-acting's totally out of synch with the game.

Sorry Dave, but as good as Digne may be, I think it'll take more than a good left-back with a fine cross on him to solve this mess.

  9. Postpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Watford

Allan Saint-Maxmin gets away down the left. He cuts it back but it's behind Chris Wood.

It falls for Sean Longstaff, right on the edge of the box, but he skews it over!

  10. Postpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Newcastle 0-0 Watford

Emmanuel Dennis tries to flick it over Kieran Trippier's head but it looks like he ends up kicking the ball into his own face.

Dennis goes down rolling around, Trippier is furious, Joao Pedro comes across to get involved and it's all a bit silly.

  11. Postpublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Norwich 2-0 Everton

    Close!

Everton fire a corner to the near post and the ball almost squirms in. Just the wrong side of the post for Everton.

The Toffees absolutely need to score the next goal in this game to have any chance of taking something home with them.

Luminol: I understand Everton fans’ frustration, but I feel sorry for Benitez having to work with a squad containing 2 class players, a couple of average players, and a fistful of has-beens and championship players. He deserves more.

    Raul Jimenez pen

    No mistake!

Cool as you like as Raul Jimenez sends the goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot and scores his fourth of the season to give the hosts the lead.

The home side are ahead but Southampton players were fuming. They felt that penalty should neve have been awarded.

    Newcastle 0-0 Watford

    Neil Lennon

Watford are slick, aren't they? They move the ball well. Going forward they're slick and at times they're quick, they pass the ball very well.

  16. Postpublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

A few corners for Watford, who are starting to get involved now. They look sharp on the break.

  19. Postpublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

Kieran Trippier, Ryan Fraser and Jonjo Shelvey link-up on the right. There are players waiting in the box.

Newcastle are dominating the ball but there's definitely a tense feeling in the stadium.

  20. Postpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Norwich 2-0 Everton

Max Aarons is getting all the time and space he could ask for down the right side for Norwich.

Zero sign yet that Everton have a rally in them.
