    Middlesbrough 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Lyle Taylor is on for Forest as Lewis Grabban makes way. A switch to the strikers.

They could have had Pele and Ronaldo up front today to be fair, and still be 2-0 down.

Big, big goal and it's eased a few tensions at the Riverside.

Matt Crooks and Isaiah Jones worked a nice combination down the right, getting to the edge of the Forest box where Crooks darted.

His fierce cross could only be palmed out by Brice Samba, straight into the path of Slovenia international Andraz Sporar, who thrashed it emphatically into the back of the net.

Jubilation on Teesside. Boro heading for the top six.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Boro have been on the back foot in the past few minutes but showed they are still well in the contest a moment ago.

It was good football around the Forest box from Boro, the ball was played into Andraz Sporar who does well to swivel and flash a near-post effort into the side netting.

Just a few inches to the left and that would have been two.

    Huddersfield 1-2 Blackpool

Huddersfield come close again, and Danny Ward is the figure in the box who connects with a Sorba Thomas cross but the save is made by Dan Grimshaw.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest have woken up here and are finally making some claims.

Xande Silva shows quicksilver feet to skip down the left but his cross was cleared.

Joe Worrall strode forward, and after slipping the ball wide to Brennan Johnson, continued a run into the box to meet his teammate's cross but put it over.

No let up in the end-to-end feel at Huddersfield, where it is open and frenetic.

    Still, Blackpool lead.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Finally, Forest get a chance, a genuine chance, and it should be a leveller. But it's not and Phillip Zinckernagel is the man to waste it.

Brennan Johnson latches onto a sloppy Paddy McNair header, and races toward goal. He gets to the byline and cuts it back, but Zinckernagel is leaning back and skies it.

Really poor. Poor enough to earn him the hook as Xande Silva comes on.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Middlesbrough have had 26 touches in the Forest area. Conversely, Forest have had TWO in Boro's 18-yard box.

  12. SECOND HALFpublished at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    Huddersfield 1-2 Blackpool

Back out at the JSS, where Huddersfield are trailing.

How much will the loss of Tom Lees be costly? We shall see.

  13. Postpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

It's just not happening for the visitors. Forest stride on with Lewis Grabban driving at the heart of the Boro side with numbers flooding forward in suppoort.

However, Grabban tries to slip the ball wide right to pick out a team-mate but puts it straight out of play. Plenty of wailing and teeth gnashing from the Forest contingent.

Then, Boro attack, the ball is played back to Andraz Sporar on the edge of the box but his thumping effort is blocked by Scott McKenna.

  16. Postpublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest have switched to a 4-4-2 now in a bid to take Boro on, but the visitors remain on the back foot.

Joao Carvalho has been introduced to try to wrest some control and bring some incision to the attack.

However, Boro are playing around Forest rather than through them and the wide threat has been outstanding.

  17. Postpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Brennan Johnson tries to get down the Boro right, but he's muscled out of it and left on the floor by Anfernee Dijksteel.

The frustration is palpable on the face of the young Wales international.

  18. Postpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Boro come out of the blocks again with ferocity, winning a corner which Matt Crooks tries to flick into a dangerous area, but Forest get it clear.

The Reds midfield has been overrun and out-thought so far. They need to get some control. Boro have been really sharp.
