    Nottm Forest 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield win a free-kick in a dangerous area of the pitch and they have the perfect chance to pressure Nottingham Forest early on, here.

However Sorba Thomas' inswinging delivery into the box fails to be met by any of his team-mates in the box and it tamely flies away for a goal kick to the hosts.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff

Kieffer Moore gets Cardiff's first chance of the match so far as they take the game to Bournemouth.

    Sunderland 0-0 Sheff Wed

A clash of heads causes an early stoppage in tonight's solitary League One fixture, with Callum Paterson going down and coming off worse.

The visitors win a free-kick in an edgy start. A win for the hosts would take them above Rotherham and to the top of the table, while Sheffield Wednesday start the night four points outside the play-offs.

  7. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 1-0 QPRpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2021

    Alex Scott (3 mins)

An early goal at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City have clearly used their 12 day break wisely as 18-year-old Alex Scott gives them the lead.

Andreas Weimann plays in Antoine Semenyo whose shot is blocked to the edge of the area for Scott to drill home via a deflection.

    Perfect start for City.

Here's how things look at the top of the Championship going into tonight's fixtures in the second tier.

Bournemouth lead the way, but it's looking mighty tight lower down the pecking order.

The Cherries take on Cardiff tonight with the chance to pad that lead out.
