Sadio Mane finished with a goal and assist to send Senegal into the final. Their main man certainly delivered when it mattered as they move a step closer to an elusive first Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

Will we get to see Mane v Mohamed Salah in Sunday's final?

  5. Senegal just about too strongpublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

Senegal into Africa Cup of Nations final

    Nick Cavell
    BBC Africa Sport in Cameroon

Senegal were just about the better side as they beat Burkina Faso to reach their second consecutive Africa Cup of Nations final.

The big difference was the quality available for Senegal going forward with the likes of Mane, Ciss and laterly Ismaila Sarr.

At times Bertrand Traore looked a little lonely up front despite the best efforts of Blati Toure and Gustavo Sangare.

    Burkina Faso 1-3 Senegal

For a long time it felt like just the one goal would decide this but what a dramatic final 20 minutes it has been.

That is surely it for drama though as we head towards the 90th minute.

  12. Hard to keep up!published at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Nick Cavell
    BBC Africa Sport in Cameroon

Trying to keep up in the stadium - as soon as a goal is scored we all look to the monitor to check we have seen things correctly only to miss the next moment on the field.

I did see that from Sadio Mane - Burkina Faso pushing for an equaliser left exposed at the back.

    Sadio Mane

That surely settles it as Sadio Mane gets a record-equalling goal!

Senegal's main man strides away on the break before calmly chipping the ball over the goalkeeper to ensure his country head to the Africa Cup of Nations final.

That's the Liverpool striker's 29th goal for his country, making him Senegal's joint all-time top scorer.

    Burkina Faso 1-2 Senegal

The Burkina Faso coaching team are fuming as they feel they should have a penalty for handball. Looking at replays it would seem it bounced off Pape Sarr's chin rather than his hand.

Burkina Faso are not giving up yet as Blati Touré knees in a cross from the right.

    Game on!

It gets even better for Senegal!

Sadio Mane has the ball on the left after pinching possession off a defender and he dribbles into the area before feeding to the middle of the box where Idrissa Gueye sweeps in.

A second goal and Senegal are heading to the final!

Abdou Diallo's been excellent in this tournament. One of the vocal leaders in the group too. Great for him to be (possibly) the hero.

    Burkina Faso 0-1 Senegal

That's only Abdou Diallo's second goal for his country but what a crucial goal it could be.

Burkina Faso look unsettled as Nampalys Mendy has a go from distance but his effort is straight at the goalkeeper.
