  1. HALF-TIME Motherwell 1-0 St Johnstonepublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2021

In a half where chances have been few and far between, Motherwell lead at the break having converted from the game’s only shot on target.

Dean Cornelius’ strike after a poor clearance from Saints’ defender Jamie McCart separates the sides at the break.

No shots on target for St Johnstone so far and it is hard to see how they find their way back into this one after the interval.

    Dundee 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

The first real save of the match comes from Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon, who has to get down low at full stretch to keep out midfielder Paul McGowan's effort.

    What a hit!

A Livingston clearance falls to the feet of the County midfielder and he curls the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.

Max Stryjek got a hand to it, but it was a fine strike.

  4. HALF-TIME Rangers 0-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2021

A good half's work from Thomas Courts' United, who are depleted with a Covid outbreak.

Rangers haven't given the away side too much to think about, but the visitors have held firm and looked tidy in attack.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will want much more from his side. It's been pedestrian at times and the Ibrox crowd are letting them know.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2021

    Rangers 0-0 Dundee Utd

Nathan Patterson is on the overlap for winger Ryan Kent, who finds the Scotland full-back.

The Rangers defender bends in a fine ball with his left foot and Alfredo Morelos is up to meet it.

But Trevor Carson makes a fine stop to tip the ball over the bar.

    Rangers 0-0 Dundee United

United striker Nicky Clark does well to take down a ball in the Rangers penalty box, but referee Alan Muir blows for a foul for a nudge on centre-back Connor Goldson.

On the angle we have, it looks a soft call.

  9. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Ross County

Jack Baldwin was involved in a penalty appeal for Livingston earlier and again the home players feel the County captain should've been penalised.

This time it's for a handball as Craig Sibbald flicks the ball goalward. It strikes the defender's hand, for sure. Referee Grant Irvine clearly feels it wasn't in an unnatural position.

    Dundee 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

Dundee are starting to show their teeth.

Leigh Griffiths sends an inviting cross in for Danny Mullen and his strike partner peels away and has a free header from close range but doesn't make contact. His blushes are spared by the assistant referee's offside flag.

Then Griffiths allows a pass to run across his body before wrapping a left foot around it, but the defence are able to block.

  12. CLOSE!published at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2021

    Motherwell 1-0 St Johnstone

Well defender Bevis Mugabi fails to clear his lines properly as the ball trundles out of the box and falls kindly to Liam Craig.

However, the midfielder's powerful left-footed drives goes just inches past the post.

    Rangers 0-0 Dundee Utd

United's young midfield are doing a fine job of getting their toes onto interceptions and winning fouls that are breaking this game up.

That's playing a big part in Rangers' lack of intensity. The leaders' slack play hasn't helped either as a simple ball comically rolls under the foot of full-back Nathan Patterson.

    Dundee 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

A rather comical moment, although Dundee manager James McPake wasn't laughing.

Goalkeeper Adam Legzdins collects a cross and throws the ball out quickly to one of his defenders, who has no idea the ball is coming to him.

It bounces off his heels and back into the danger area, but Hearts can't take advantage.

    Motherwell 1-0 St Johnstone

Winger Viv Solomon-Otabor drives into St Johnstone's box and flashes a ball across the goalmouth.

Stevie May did all he could to try and reach it with his head, but the striker falls short of what would have been a definite goal.

  20. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Ross County

Livingston players swarm around referee Grant Irvine after Jack Baldwin's challenge on Craig Sibbald in the penalty box.

It came in late, but the referee decides it wasn't a foul but rather Baldwin got the ball.
