  1. Postpublished at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Johnstone 1-1 Ross County

Stevie May latches onto a ball with his back to goal at the side of the box. He spins and fires a low ball across, but no St Johnstone players had gambled on it coming in so quickly.

Any contact with the ball and Maynard-Brewer would have had his work cut out to keep the score level.

  2. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeen

Hibs try a free-kick routine that ends with Martin Boyle thumping a shot through a ruck of bodies.

He was possibly looking for a slight deflection off a defender to take it past Joe Lewis, but instead it goes all the way through to the Dons goalkeeper.

  3. Postpublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Mirren 0-0 Celtic

Celtic captain Callum McGregor slashes high and wide from just inside the box as the visitors continue to dominate.

    Can St Mirren hold out?

  4. Hungbo & Charles-Cook County's dangermenpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Johnstone 1-1 Ross County

Ross County make the brighter start to the second half as Regan Charles-Cook and Joseph Hungbo continue where they left off with their attacking intent.

Jordan White is doing well to bring them into the game consistently with his hold-up play.

  5. Postpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Mirren 0-0 Celtic

Celtic's Anthony Ralston stands up a cross, two St Mirren players go for the same header and the ball drops invitingly to Mikey Johnston on the penalty spot.

The winger gets a clean hit but it's straight into the midriff of a relieved Dean Lyness.

Owen Moffat is next to have a go for the visitors, only to thump a shot well wide.

  6. Ramsay makes Aberdeen returnpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeen

A welcome sight for Aberdeen fans as arguably their player of the season so far, right-back Calvin Ramsay, appears from the bench to make his first appearance since a win over Hibs in October.

He replaces Jay Emmanuel-Thomas as Stephen Glass attempts to find the opening goal at Easter Road.

  8. Postpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    HT: St Mirren 0-0 Celtic

Ange Postecoglou's side have enjoyed 82% of the ball in Paisley, but are yet to find the net.

Just 11.8% of the game has been played in Celtic's final third. Can the home side pose more of a threat in the second half?

    HT: Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeen

    Michael Stewart
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

There has been some nice football, but it's lacked a killer touch. Hibs started the game well and the got joy down the right early. The two managers will be happy with aspects of the game.

  10. 'Saints still right in this'published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

HT: St Johnstone 1-1 Ross County

    Quote Message

County are a good side that are full of pace. They can count themselves unlucky so far, but St Johnstone are very much still in this.

  11. All the action in Perthpublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Johnstone 1-1 Ross County

So far, all the Premiership goals this evening have come in Perth - how often do you say that?

Can't help think how big a moment that missed penalty from Ross Callachan might turn out to be...

  12. Half-time scores in the lower leagues...published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    It's also half-time in tonight's League 1 and League 2 action.

    • Montrose 1-0 Peterhead
    • Cowdenbeath 0-0 Edinburgh City
  13. Dons midfield impressing in Leithpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    HT: Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeen

Former Aberdeen defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Aberdeen's midfield two have been outstanding, Dean Campbell and Lewis Ferguson. Both teams have tried to play football. It's been a pleasant game to watch.

  14. HALF-TIME St Johnstone 1-1 Ross Countypublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

Ross County were only ahead for four minutes before St Johnstone found a reply.

Regan Charles-Cook deft chip for County’s opener was the first half’s only real moment of quality. St Johnstone’s equaliser came through a Jacob Butterfield shot that took a wicked deflection towards the goal.

Ross Callachan missed the chance to put Ross County ahead again from the penalty spot - hitting the post - after Craig Bryson handled the ball in the wall at a set-piece.

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Johnstone 1-1 Ross County

Jordan White rises above everyone else to meet a Blair Spittal corner and his header goes agonisingly close for County.

He really should have hit the target, though.

  16. HALF-TIME Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeenpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

It's not been a classic, but Aberdeen have shaded the first half.

Lewis Ferguson forced a save at the near post and both Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Dean Campbell have had a go from distance.

Yet the game's best chance has fallen to Hibernian. Martin Boyle took too long to get his shot away inside the box and Kevin Nisbet headed his blocked effort over the bar.

  17. HALF-TIME St Mirren 0-0 Celticpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

Celtic have dominated to no avail against the Covid-hit hosts, who have Dean Lyness to thank for a couple of great saves.

The visitors - missing the movement and finishing power of Kyogo - lack a cutting edge, while St Mirren gave them a scare at the other end with Joe Shaughnessy's header.

  18. 'Can St Mirren continue to contain Celtic?'published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Mirren 0-0 Celtic

    Steven Thompson
Former St Mirren striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

The one thing that worries me about the second half is the young players tiring. When you look to the bench it's all academy players. It's a big test for the boys

  19. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    St Johnstone 1-1 Ross County

The importance of this game is clear to see with both sides really having a go now that the scores are level again.

Stevie May and Michael O'Halloran are playing right on the shoulder of County's defence while Regan Charles-Cook and Joseph Hungbo are effectively mirroring them at the opposite end.

  20. Gogic in the book instantlypublished at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    Hibernian 0-0 Aberdeen

Another good chance for Aberdeen as Jonny Hayes' cross reaches Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, who knocks the ball down at the back post for Marley Watkins, but he's beaten to the ball.

Hibernian are then forced into an early change. Midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes is unable to continue, with Alex Gogic replacing him. And his impact is almost instant, becoming the game's first yellow card after pulling down Christian Ramirez.
