  3. Clark out as St Johnstone make five changespublished at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

St Johnstone v Ross County (19:45)

St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson is without forwards Chris Kane and Eetu Vertainen who are isolating, while keeper Zander Clark and right-back Shaun Rooney are also out of the matchday squad for St Johnstone.

Midfielder Liam Craig drops to the bench for the Premiership's bottom side.

  4. Brown out for Aberdeen but Gallagher returnspublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    Hibernian v Aberdeen (19:45)

The big news for Aberdeen is midfielder Scott Brown is out. And, with another ex-Hibee Dylan McGeouch also not in the squad, that leaves the Dons short in the middle, with Dean Campbell handed a start as manager Stephen Glass makes two enforced changes from the win over St Johnstone 10 days ago.

Ross McCrorie is suspended, which makes defender Declan Gallagher's return a timely one. The former Motherwell skipper hasn't played since being injured in a 1-0 win over Hibs at Pittodrie in October.

Right-back Calvin Ramsay was also injured in that game, and he is back in the squad, although only on the bench.

Teddy Jenks came on as a substitute to score the winner against the St Johnstone, but it has not been enough to oust Jay Emmanuel-Thomas from the starting line-up, who he has replaced from the bench in the last two games.

  5. Allan starts for Hibs as Maloney names first XIpublished at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

    Hibernian v Aberdeen (19:45)

Scott Allan makes his first start since October as Shaun Maloney names his first line-up since taking over as Hibernian manager.

Midfielder Allan is one of three changes from Sunday's League Cup final defeat to Celtic, with winger Chris Cadden and full-back Josh Doig also starting.

Lewis Stevenson and Jamie Murphy drop to the bench, while Joe Newell doesn't make the squad after picking up a late yellow card at Hampden.

Kyle Magennis, Melker Hallberg and Sean Mackie have been nursing injuries and none of them make the squad either.

In League 2, bottom club Cowdenbeath welcome Edinburgh City.
