St Johnstone are getting dragged about all over the place at the back. It's disjointed, with centre-halves two yards deeper than others. That break in the line has been ruthlessly exploited by Celtic

  2. Pleasure, and some pain, for Celtic in Perthpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    HT: St Johnstone 0-2 Celtic

Liel Abada's goals came either side of a Kyogo injury for Celtic in the first half at McDiarmid Park.

It looked like another hamstring issue for the Japanese striker, but it certainly hasn't knocked the visitors out of their stride.

The small band of home fans inside McDiarmid Park must be feeling pretty miserable as their team heads towards an eighth successive loss. Saints have offered absolutely nothing in attack so far.

  6. Postpublished at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    St Johnstone 0-2 Celtic

Liel Abada must have had a double helping of Brussels sprouts yesterday as has another run at the ragged home defence. He twists one way then another before his shot is deflected behind.

Liel Abada darts in behind the Saints defence once again, but this time the pass from Nir Bitton is just too heavy and Elliot Parish is out quickly to gather.

Rogic doesn't go into a traditional number 10 position, he pulls away into a little bit of space. Abada makes that penetrating run. Simple goal but a very, very good goal

St Johnstone have now got to score a goal - something they're not very good at. If I was St Johnstone, I would be putting the ball in on top of Barkas at every single opportunity as early as you can. He's really struggled since he came to Celtic

  16. Kyogo off injured againpublished at 12:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    St Johnstone 0-1 Celtic

Uh-oh. This could be bad news for Celtic.

Kyogo pulls up chasing the ball in the penalty area and now the striker is limping off to be replaced by 18-year-old Joey Dawson.

The teenager, making his senior debut, has been banging them in for the B team in the Lowland League.

Almost a second goal for the visitors as Kyogo is a fraction away from connecting with a stooping header at the back post from a corner.

St Johnstone give it away. Abada was in the centre - almost nobody picking him up. What a save from Elliot Parish initially. Abada just follows up and heads it into the back of the net

GOAL St Johnstone 0-1 Celticpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2021

    Liel Abada

St Johnstone give the ball away twice in quick succession and Josip Juaranovic drills a lovely cross into the path of Liel Abada.

Elliot Parish makes a terrific reflex save to stop the first-time shot but the ball loops high into the air and, despite his comparatively diminutive stature, Abada beats the goalkeeper and two defenders to the jump and nods into an empty net.

Celtic are actually playing Abada up alongside Kyogo. It looks like Scales will be asked to bomb up and down from a left-back position. That's a big, big change in the way Celtic have lined up
