  2. 'We dug in deep'published at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes tells BBC MOTD: "We started very well and should have got a second goal at 1-0. We gave Leicester a leg up and allowed them back in the game and the goal before half-time was decisive.

"In the first 20, 30 minutes we were on top and annoyed we did not make more opportunities from the positions we were in. Leicester played much better, it looked it was going to get away but shows great resilience. We are a bit disappointed just to take a point. When you are not playing as well as you can do, we dug in deep and keep picking up the points.

"Kurt Zouma has sickness, gastro problems. He wasn't well last night, did not come down for the pre-match meal incase it was something else."

  3. 'To not win is disappointing'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    Leicester City

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers tells Match of the Day:

"It’s very deflated. We didn’t deserve it, I thought the players were excellent. There was a bit of anxiety at the beginning with the crowd and with recent results. A little anxiety can spread to the players.

"In the second part of the first half we started to get our feeling back into the game. We reinforced that at half-time, just to stay calm.

"The mantra of our team is about possession and moving the ball and arriving into the final third. I thought the players showed immense courage in the second half. I thought we were excellent in the second half. To not win the game is very disappointing.

"In time we will get back to our level, we are missing players and whatever else. We will get back to that level. But in the meantime we have to have this collective intensity to keep improving. That’s the thing that has been missing from our game consistently this year. We saw that today, especially in the second half.

"We haven’t been ruthless enough in these past three home games. We have dropped seven points from nine in really good positions.

"Today passion and everything was really good, it’s just unfortunate we couldn’t get the three points."

  4. 'A big point for us'published at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham captain Declan Rice tells Match of the Day:

On rescuing a late result: “It’s because of the way we push each other as lads and what the manager is driving in training and in games.

“In my opinion we could have been two three up in the first half and the game would have looked very different. The penalty swings it in their favour and then it was a game of two halves.

“To get the equaliser at the end was a big point for us considering where we are in the table and where we want to get to.

"Usually we are very good away from home, we put up strong performances. Eight points from eight games doesn’t sound the best but we are still where we are in the table. We need to be positive.

“We know we have big games coming up in the next couple of weeks that can define out season and we will be ready."

Leicester have conceded 19 goals from set-pieces this season.

Manchester City (14), Wolves (17) and Chelsea (18) have conceded fewer goals in total all campaign.

  6. 'An apology has been made'published at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes tells Sky Sports: "We started the game quite well, had control but gave it away before half-time, gave them a leg up and it was a penalty kick. They got a goal from it and second half we did not play well but showed resilience to get a point.

"We had not really given them many opportunity, we had chances but did not take it. We were punished for it.

"You have to remember this (Leicester) team was winning the FA Cup and league title not so long away. They have some really good players here, we are trying to stick at it, we have had some difficulties and still pulling out wins and results.

"In the first half I felt annoyed after going into a good lead and gave them a leg up. It says lots for the players, we have come quickly and made massive strides in the last couple of years. I will squeeze everything out of them and I want us to challenge the top teams."

On Kurt Zouma: "He was ill before the game, wanted to play, we wanted him to play as well. He was sick during the night, he stayed away from the players and did not eat much. Once he got out he did not think it was possible. We told Issa Diop to be ready. It is a stomach bug, probably something he has eaten.

"I hope that we have changed a bit of how West Ham is perceived, but more on the pitch. We have a good, exciting young team that we are trying to improve. West Ham have done great work down the East End of London, young supporters coming in and a lot of good things being done. We should not allow something like this to blight what has gone on. A mistake has been made and there are managers with players who have made mistakes. You want to feel there is forgiveness and an apology has been made."

  7. 'It's tough'published at 18:54 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    Leicester City

Leicester City’s Ricardo Pereira tells Sky Sports: "It’s difficult when you start losing the game then come back before half-time. Then we had a great second half. I don’t remember Kasper [Schmeichel] working in the second half and then we suffer a goal at the end. It was like we lost the game.

“It’s tough. We know we have had difficulties with set pieces, we are aware of that. We knew we needed to concentrate more and we have to have to do better."

  8. 'Just go deal with it'published at 18:49 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers tells Sky Sports: "We have had a few of them lately, deflating for the players. Second half we were outstanding and first half West Ham were better. Second half was like watching us of old, speed of the game and chances. That is seven points dropped in our last three games from good positions, it is disappointing.

"There was anxiety there but possession is a mantra, you have to take the ball and be brave. Naturally, when you are inconsistent the crowd will be edgy. Second half we got up the pitch."

On Youri Tielemans: "Firstly he has not declined (a new contract). I have seen stories but the position is exactly the same. He is a fantastic player and there has been no movement. He has worked well and until his last days here, he will always give his best. He is a top professional and you saw his commitment today."

"We have closed out the game really well, made subs to see the game through. Kasper Schmeichel did not have too much to do today so from the static position, you have the height and numbers, just go deal with it. Unfortunately the last few games we have conceded late here. I was much happier with the mentality and intensity of the team, especially in the second half."

  9. 'It counted and that's all that matters'published at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Craig Dawson tells Sky Sports: "We were working hard to get the goal, luckily enough it went in.

"I was slightly worried [about VAR], but it counted so that’s all that matters. It was a fair point for us today.

"The manager made a couple of [half-time] changes, which helped us out and the lads put a shift in until the end."

  10. 'People doubted us this season'published at 18:33 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    FT: Leicester 2-2 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham captain Declan Rice tells Sky Sports: "Disappointment really, a game of two halves. We could have used our chances better in the first half and they were on top in the second half. We have been working hard on our set-pieces and a good point in the end.

"In the first half we were compact in the middle but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was picking up pockets in the second half and Harvey Barnes was flying down the left.

"We have to still keep believing. We are around the top four spots now, many people doubted us this season but we are still positive and a great bunch of lads. Onto Newcastle next week."
