  1. Food for thought

    FT: Poland 2-1 Wales

So that's it from us on a night where Robert Page was offered food for thought by his fringe players, some of whom really caught the eye against a full-strength Poland side.

Wales can be pleased that they were highly competitive and managed to be so with their star performers remaining on the bench or in the stands, fresh for Sunday against Ukraine or Scotland.

That's of course the game Wales' focus is on and I'm sure most of you will now be turning your attention to Hamden Park.

So join us again on Sunday... for the tiny matter of Wales' biggest qualification game in a generation.

Until then, take care and enjoy the rest of your week. Thanks for following along with us.

  2. Post update

    FT: Poland 2-1 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

There has been a shift for Wales since that Denmark game.

I don't think anyone would have expected us to play Harry Wilson against Austria but it worked.

The tactical element of the game is an intriguing one, the team won't change too much regardless of Scotland or Ukraine but you'll see us on the front foot.

  3. Post update

    FT: Poland 2-1 Wales

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

I expect a blow away performance from Wales, they'll come out of the traps on Sunday and be almost unstoppable.

You look at how many times Wales have got results against one of the best in the world Belgium, a lot of things are in Wales' favour.

This is the first game tonight Wales have lost in a long time, we just need to go and play the game not the occasion.

  4. The Kieffer question

    FT: Poland 2-1 Wales

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

You saw the platform go when Kieffer Moore went off.

Three months ago I'd have said 100% he starts but after the Austria game they did brilliant without him.

He can take a lot of weight off Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale so I'd go with Kieffer on Sunday.

  5. Post update

    FT: Poland 2-1 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

So many good individual performances tonight

Wes Burns outstanding on debut looked right at home.

We didn't control possession as well second half but I think it was a really good all-round performance.

Rob Page won't be worried about the result he'll be looking to Sunday.

  6. Post update

    FT: Poland 2-1 Wales

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

It was a really good performance by a second string side.

Harsh in the end to concede that second goal, just a slight lapse of concentration and at this level that's all teams like Poland need.

Disappointing to not get a result but a brilliant performance.

  7. FULL-TIME - Poland 2-1 Wales

    That's it.

A really good performance by Wales, but they are beaten by a strong Poland side in their Nations League opener as their stars watch from the stands.

We will bring you all the reaction as we get it.

Rabbi Matondo runs with the ball
  8. Post update

    Poland 2-1 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

On the whole it's been an outstanding performance, I don't think Wales deserve to lose this game.

A sloppy bit of play for the second goal but a lucky ricochet for it.

Rob Page should be proud of the players and the performance.

  9. CLOSE!

    Poland 2-1 Wales

    That's a chance!

Sorba Thomas' corner is not cleared and falls to Matt Smith, but he fires over from inside the penalty area.

  10. Post update

    Poland 2-1 Wales

Matt Smith's header deflects over from Rabbi Matondo's teasing cross.

  11. Post update

    Poland 2-1 Wales

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

You just felt if there was going to be a goal Poland would have to earn it, you don't want to give cheap goals away.

Rabbi Matondo will be so disappointed and he'll know he could have done better there.

  12. Post update

    Poland 2-1 Wales

Harsh on Wales, but this is the A league.

Any mistake is liable to be punished.

  13. GOAL - Poland 2-1 Wales

    Karol Swiderski

    Disappointing for Wales.

They concede possession as Rabbi Matondo gives the ball away and Robert Lewandowski's shot is deflected off Rhys Norrington-Davies and Karol Swiderski manages to finish from close-range just ahead of Wayne Hennessey.

  14. Kaminski Method failure

    Poland 1-1 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

The problem for the goal was that nobody really latches onto Kaminski, they're marking space more than players.

Kaminski did well to shift it onto his right and find the corner.

If they can get on the ball and calm things down a bit I think Wales can still win the game if they get the control back.

Overall I think the boys have been outstanding.

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Poland 1-1 Wales

    Kamil Grosicki replaces Grzegorz Krychowiak.

  16. Post update

    Poland 1-1 Wales

Wales 10 minutes and stoppage time away from a draw they'd have certainly taken before kick-off.

They want more though and Neco Williams shoots over.

  17. Post update

    Poland 1-1 Wales

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

You know Sorba Thomas brings energy, quality, technique, and can assist the ball.

He's great on set pieces so let's hope he can create a goal.

  18. Post update

    Poland 1-1 Wales

Excellent pressing by Rabbi Matondo wins a corner for Wales.

  19. Post update

    Poland 1-1 Wales

    Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales in Wroclaw, Poland

Wales are still very much in "creditable draw" territory as football parlance would have it.

Win, draw or lose, this fixture is about keeping the squad intact for a greater goal on Sunday.

Even if Poland win it from here, this already feels like a job well done for Wales.

  20. SUBSTITUTION

    Poland 1-1 Wales

Wales' goalscorer Jonny Williams is replaced by Sorba Thomas.

Insert your own "can he shrug off his play-off disappointment," line here.
