That wait for a VAR check on Kosovo's third goal just added salt to the Northern Ireland wounds.
The players and the supporters in the stadium will have known just how big that third goal would be - coming so soon after Northern Ireland pulled one back - and it really does look like a big ask for the visitors to once again try and eat into the hosts' two-goal lead.
No changes so far from Ian Baraclough - you can usually set your clock for the subs to come on the hour-mark, though.

Every time Kosovo get the ball they have two or three yards of space. We aren't even getting close, they're just playing through us all the time.

So, as things stand in Group 2...
Greece are top on nine points and are followed by Kosovo on six points.
Northern Ireland and Cyprus are sharing the bottom end on one point each. Ouch.

The weight of the pass from Kosovo, the touch, it puts us to shame.

The hope and optimism was nice while it lasted.

It's awarded! Kosovo are two goals up!

A great interchange of passes and they've cut right through us there. A perfect finish at the back post again. We're back behind the eight-ball again. The players look dejected.

We're going to VAR to check if Vedat Muriqi had strayed offside. It's a tight one!
Muriqi (52 mins)
Lirim Kastrati gets inside Ciaron Brown, plays a ball across goal and Vedat Muriqi is on hand for his second of the night.

Ibrahim Dresevic falls over in slow motion and wins a free-kick.
Kosovo 2-1 Northern Ireland
Ciaron Brown does another trademark long throw.
IHe's thrown it so far it's out for a goal kick.

I know it's a cliché, but the next goal is going to be massive!

We need to keep the back door shut first and foremost in the second half. We need to start the next ten minutes on the front foot.

Conor McMenamin has done well at times, he's looked lively. Brodie Spencer has been a little exposed at times, he could do with a bit of help out there.

It was nowhere near good enough from Northern Ireland.

How big could that Shayne Lavery goal prove to be for Northern Ireland?
It was certainly much-needed, that's for sure, and it means a half of football with not too many positives ends on a high for the visitors.
It's been another 45 minutes to forget for Ian Baraclough's men. They have looked more energetic than they did in the defeat by Greece and the draw against Cyprus, but that probably says more about those two performances than this one.
Silly mistakes have cost Northern Ireland for both goals, one from the experienced captain and one from a young full-back who went to sleep and let his man get across him.
The goal gives Northern Ireland something to cling to, but it's going to take a pretty big swing in this match if they are going to get anything out of it.

We started very slowly. We are fortunate to be going in with the score at 2-1. We've been thrown a lifeline with that Lavery goal, so we need to capitalise on that now.

A safe set of hands all round!
