    Northern Ireland 0-1 Cyprus

    Off we go!

The visitors have made one change at the break with forward Ionnais Pittas off for defender Antreas Panayiotou, which tells you everything you need to know about Cyprus' intentions in the second half.

We need an injection of pace, maybe Whyte could come on and Lavery could move into the middle, he is not as effective out wide.

Can Ian Baraclough's men turn it around?

We have looked more positive, the system is working better. It has been encouraging but ultimately we are behind. We lost our way on turnover of the ball and we gave away a poor goal. Charles has done well, but he lost his man for the goal. It shouldn’t happen at this level.

It's disappointing and frustrating. We started off reasonably well but then they got back into it and we gave away a soft goal. It's only in the last 10 minutes of the half have we pushed again.

    There are half-time team-talks and there are half-time team-talks.

And, my goodness, Ian Baraclough has one almighty address to deliver to his players over the next 15 minutes.

A defeat to Cyprus, which is what Northern Ireland are currently staring at, would be one of the worst competitive results the team has ever suffered at Windsor Park.

There were definite boos from The Kop as the half-time whistle sounded. They didn't last long, but the players will have heard them.

    It's over to you, Ian.

A bit of a disaster, you have to say.

There goes the half-time whistle at Windsor Park.

There are a few boos and jeers as the players make their way down the tunnel.

Shayne Lavery does a trademark run off the back of the defence but he just can't get on the end of Jonny Evans' pass.

What a ball from Charles, brilliant again. We need to get McMenamin into the game more as well as Lavery.

Andronikos Kakoulli skies a shot over from outside the area. No harm done.

  13. CLOSE!published at 14:43 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Cyprus

Shea Charles plays in Conor McMenamin, it's a great ball but the keeper is out to smother the winger's shot.

That was a great chance! A great run but it just lacked the finishing touch.

You have to take Fifa's world rankings with a pinch of salt but Cyprus are currently 105th.

Charles has to get on the ball and play. I know he's a young player but he seems to accept the fact that he is being bypassed.

    Oh dear.

A disastrous international window for Northern Ireland just sunk to a whole new low with that Cyprus goal.

Terrible marking from a free-kick and the hosts are behind.

How will Ian Baraclough's men respond?

The Kop immediately started singing for the team. just seconds after the goal went in, and now the whole ground is "standing up for the Ulstermen".

    They need that backing.

Northern Ireland behind against Cyprus. At home. Oh dear.

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

For some reason we have stopped playing through the midfield and were relying on long balls from Evans and Ballard. We're not getting the ball into Charles and McNair and threatening their backline.

  19. CLOSE!published at 14:37 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

Paddy McNair's corner is cleared as far as Steven Davis.

The skipper lines up a shot from 20 yards and he has hit it really well but it's tipped over the bar.
