Kyle Lafferty has a go from 20 yards but it is straight at Andreas Christodoulou.

Shocking defending, it's just a straightforward free kick. Charles doesn't get anywhere near him and Carson can do little about it. Now it is a test of character for Northern Ireland.

GOAL - Northern Ireland 0-1 Cypruspublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Andronikos Kakoulli (32 mins)

    Folks, it's happened again...

Andronikos Kakoulli has flicked home Chambos Kyriakou's cross and Cyprus lead. Yikes.

The crowd ring into a chorus of boos, while some chant 'Green and White Army' in response. No matter where you sit that's an absolute disaster from Ian Baraclough's point of view.

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

Lavery has done brilliant again getting to the byline, but McNair’s first touch is awful, it lets him down and means the ball was always going away from him.

  5. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

Paddy McNair is down again in the area but the referee is unmoved.

He could have had a shot moments before but elected to take a touch and he ran into trouble.

  6. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

There's more good play by Cyprus, but midfielder Chambos Kyriakou gets fed up with that and has a shot that nearly hits the corner flag.

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

That was the best chance, a scare, you wonder how he actually misses it. If you give them the type of room we give them we saw in the first game, they can play through you.

  8. CLOSE!published at 14:25 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0- 0 Cyprus

Cyprus should be one goal up here.

Nikolaos Panagiotou plays a low ball across the face of goal. Cristofi had a flick at it but couldn't connect, and you feel if he got a better touch on that it easily could have been a goal.

  9. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

Right, after saying the first 18 minutes had flown by the next five have dragged a bit.

The crowd are doing what they can to get their side back on the front foot.

  10. Solid startpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

    Mark Sterling
BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

It's been a decent opening 20 minutes from the home side here.

They have looked threatening at times, the tempo has been OK and they are giving Cyprus no chances to attack.

Shayne Lavery's position is still a curious one. Looks like some sort of central striker/wide-right forward hybrid so far, but we'll not get too concerned about the shape for just now.

Windsor has not hosted many Sunday afternoon internationals down the years and, while the crowd is in decent voice, the stadium is far from bouncing.

  11. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

Paddy McNair fires it towards Dan Ballard at the back post, which isn't the worst tactic in the world, but the defender heads over.

  12. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

Conor McMenamin, who has ben brilliant so far, wins a corner.

    Good chance for the hosts!

  13. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

Unlike the three other performances, the opening 18 minutes have absolutely flown by.

  14. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

On the penalty, I think McNair has dived. There was a small bit of contact but I think Paddy has felt it and gone down. If I was in the situation as a defender, I would have felt hard done by if the penalty was given.

Although he was at fault for the first goal on Thursday I think going forward Spencer was great, and he has started that way again this afternoon.

    Neil Lennon
Former Northern Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I've had a look at the penalty incident and I've seen them given. Now I've seen it again I think it's a penalty. There is definitely contact.

  17. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

Andreas Christodoulou gets to know Shayne Lavery well as the pair collide in the area.

The Cypriot stopper is down and receiving attention, and the home support are letting him know what they think about that.

  18. CLOSE!published at 14:12 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

Brilliant by Shea Charles! He spins into the area and dinks the ball to the back post.

Conor McMenamin is there, but he's under pressure and can't direct his header on target.

It's all one-way traffic so far!

  19. Postpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Cyprus

For what it's worth there is VAR this afternoon but they haven't intervened on that McNair challenge.

It was great work by Dan Ballard in the build-up as the big defender galloped forward to play McNair in.

I don't think there was enough on that for a stonewall penalty.
