  1. The actual end of the season!

    Netherlands 3-2 Wales

That's actually it from us, I can't believe it, but this never-ending football season has finally concluded.

A campaign as gruelling as any we have seen, has finally finished with five fixtures in a fortnight for Wales.

The bad news? They've lost three of them.

The good news? They won the only one that really mattered, the history-making World Cup qualifying victory over Ukraine.

Wales' fans can now look forward to next season knowing that Wales will be heading to a first World Cup in 64 years, while we can focus on transfer speculation for a couple of weeks and recharge those batteries before we all go again in early August (or late July in the EFL - blimey).

Thanks for following along with us, tonight and throughout the 2021-22 campaign, have a lovely summer and fear not, the football will be back before you know it.

  2. Let's address this problem before the World Cup - Bale

    FT: Netherlands 3-2 Wales

Wales captain Gareth Bale tells S4C's Sgorio: "It's hard to take but I'd rather this happen now and we address it than it happen at the World Cup.

"We have to use these Nations League games to improve and get better.

"Of course we all know what happened but how can we stop that happening again? We need to address that and make sure it doesn't happen in the World Cup.

"I was saying in the changing room, we're in League A playing against big teams, of course we are disappointed we conceded late, but we're competing with these big teams in every game now and it's just the finer details we need to iron out.

"If we can do that it will put us in a good place for the World Cup.

"Our fans kept us going and we really appreciate their support."

  3. 'We're gutted to lose' - Wales' Johnson

    FT: Netherlands 3-2 Wales

Wales forward Brennan Johnson: "Both games against these we've struggled in the dying seconds.

"We did really well to get back into the game but we're gutted to lose.

"We don't come to these places just to take part. It's really gutting at the end.

"I wanted to carry on my goalscoring form from the season and I think I did that.

"In the second half we played really well and went neck-to-neck with them.

"I am proud to score, I am happy with that.

"We've had four tough games this month and have shown our quality at times.

"Overall, I think it's been a really good camp for us."

  4. 'That's a tough result to take'

    FT: Netherlands 3-2 Wales

Wales defender Ben Davies tells S4C's Sgorio: "We're so disappointed with that - it's the second time that's happened.

"We started the game quite poorly but got into it in the second half. That's a tough result to take.

"The boys found it difficult at the end - five games in the summer is too much."

  5. Post update

    FT: Netherlands 3-2 Wales

    Iwan Roberts

Former Wales striker and BBC pundit

Tired body, tired minds comes into it, that's where mistakes happen and players switch off.

We've got one point from four games, we could easily have three or four points.

I'm still filled with positive vibes going into the two games into September and the World Cup.

  6. Post update

    FT: Netherlands 3-2 Wales

Wales could so easily have drawn all four of their Nations League games.

    Fine margins in A4.

    What a crazy finish.

  9. GOAL - Netherlands 3-2 Wales

    Memphis Depay

    Oh wow.

Wales have snatched defeat from the jaws of a draw again.

The ball is headed on into the Wales penalty box and Memphis Depay reacts the quickest, Wales just totally switched off.

    They were still celebrating.

Cody Gakpo looks sure to score, but Wayne Hennessey sprints off his line and stretches an arm to avert the danger.

    A wild effort.

  17. Post update

    Netherlands 2-1 Wales

Teun Koopmeiners fires over after a nice move by the hosts.

I still fancy a fourth goal in this game you know.
