It's been quite a few days for Conor McMenamin.

The Glentoran forward was withdrawn from the Northern Ireland squad on Saturday after a social media video of him was circulated, only for him to be reinstated the following day and making the trip to Greece.

Now, having come off the bench, he has to switch into game mode for the last 13 minutes of this match. Not easy.

    Quote Message

The Greeks are controlling the game, we can’t get any tempo into the game. It has got worse as the game has gone on. I still think they are capable of doing it but they’ve got to start getting forward and imposing themselves.

  18. NI need to be 'more adventurous'published at 21:00 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

    Quote Message

I think we’ve got to be a little more adventurous. We’re too safe sometimes in the passes that we’re trying to pick out. I think we’ve got to get 10 or 15 yards further up the field before we start playing.

  19. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Republic of Ireland 2-0 Armenia

    Matt Gault
BBC Sport NI at Aviva Stadium

The last time the Republic played at home, Michael Obafemi lit up a 3-0 win over Scotland with a goal and an assist.

His goal that night was a corker and tonight's one wasn't bad either.

That was just the jolt this crowd needed, admittedly. Obafemi is the kind of player fans pay their money to watch: someone who can impact a game in an instant.

That should be enough to wrap up the win for the Boys in Green.
