More from Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick, on Anthony Elanga: "I must say from the very first day from my first training session, he showed up. l had heard his name before and I was in my hotel room watching videos of him on YouTube, I thought this boy was really good. He was almost on his way out on loan, I told him you will not go out on loan, you will say here. He has developed in training.
"I want us to play like Brentford in the second half, I have great respect for what they have done here. You wouldn't see that in Germany where a team not in the top five or eight would play that kind of football. We have to develop in that direction and if we do we can play the whole game like that, not just 45 minutes."
On Rashford's goal: "Hopefully raises his confidence. I see him in training and I hope. Jadon Sancho is missing today and hopefully will be back for Saturday. It is all about confidence, especially with the foward players."
On Cristiano Ronaldo reaction to being subbed: "When we scored the third, he was not happy but he came back from injury. I was happy to have him on board for today's game. I told him we were 2-0 up and we have to learn lessons from Villa Park, after the game I was angry with myself for not changing to a back five. Today exactly the same situation and I did not want to make the same mistake again. Listen Cristiano, you are 36 in great shape, but when are a head coach, you will see if through the glasses of a head coach. My job is to take the decisions in the best interest of the team and the club and I hope he sees it the same way.
On West Ham game: "Big. We have to win the game on Saturday, they have not played during the week, only have three days and it would be helpful to have players that were not available today."

Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick tells BBC Sport: "The first half we we were second best in almost all aspects of the game, sloppy passing, missing 50-50 situations and hardly won any second balls. We were nervous on the counter-attack and were lucky at half-time to have a draw. A few great saves again from David de Gea and we showed a different face in the second half.
"Scott McTominay was exemplary and it was positively contagious to the other players then we could get some counter attacking situations, the second and third goals were really good with assists from Bruno Fernandes. He was not happy with his own decision to chip the ball. It would be more difficult for us it cope if it was 1-1 in that situation.
"We spoke about what we needed to do, raise our demands and standards with regards to our physicality but our wingers would have stayed wider to pin back their wing-backs."

Brentford
Brentford boss Thomas Frank to BBC Sport: "Unbelievably tough to take. Very, very proud of the team and players. First half we absolutely destroyed Man United, one of the biggest clubs in the country, we are are a newly promoted team. We were on the front foot, aggressive, we had six chances and should have been up 2-0 and they had zero. It would have been a completely different game.
"A bit of quality and they went 1-0 up and after that is was bit too difficult. The boys kept running, fighting and kept going. Hugely proud especially of the first half.
"They had to step up, the way we destroyed them, they were not particularly happy with that, they were huge favourites before the game. They got a goal and changed the momentum of the game. It tells everything about the players, mentality and attitude that we out ran Man United and any other day we would win.
"Ivan Toney was good today, he had Covid and was unwell for 10 to 14 days and that definitely affected his performances, especially against Aston Villa and Southampton.
"Jonas Lossl did fine, he brought some of that presence and calmness to the team so pleased with that.
"I am only looking at the next game and to end as high as possible. I am hugely disappointed not to grab the win against a top team.
"I hate losing, especially after performing fantastically."

Manchester United
Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick speaking to BT Sport about his half-time team-talk: "It was not a strong conversation, but obviously we had to change a few things.
"First half was not good in all aspects of the game. In the second half we were more urgent, attacking higher up the pitch and taking the right decisions in the counter attack and we scored, which is the big difference.
"Anthony Elanga followed up on the performance he showed at Villa Park. He was outstanding in the second half, put in a lot of work against the ball and then scoring the first goal.
"But I am happy for all our young players tonight - three young English goalscorers."
On the performance of David de Gea: "He's been doing that the last couple of weeks - brilliant saves in first half. He is one of the best keepers in the world, I would say."
On Cristiano Ronaldo's reaction to being substituted: "That is normal - a striker wants to score - but he has come back from a little injury and it was important to remember we have got another game coming up.
"Also after what happened at Villa Park, we had to defend the lead this time and it was important that we went back to a back five and while we didn't keep the clean sheet it was important to make sure nothing else happened."

Remember last year when people wanted De Gea out due to poor performances? What a difference a year makes - he's the one who's just about kept Utd going this season. Let's hope for a full team transformation next year!

Not sure why there is such surprise at this score-line. Brentford failed to take their chances during the first half, and a dominant United have been clinical during the second. Football is played over 90 minutes, not 45.

Leicester City
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BBC MOTD: "We had 93 minutes of really good work against a really good side, with top players at the top end of the field. We had to fight all the way through the game. We had moments of quality and resilience. We are disappointed to concede the equaliser. If we win a couple of duels the game is over. But we didn't. You then have to take your point. So to lose the game... it is all on us. We can have no complaints. We gift wrapped three goals and presented them the three points.
"You have to see it through. We have a header that we have to win in a key area of the pitch. From that, everyone else is in covering positions. Doherty makes a great run and they get the equaliser. But you have to take your point and move on. We make the wrong choice and one pass and Bergwijn is in to finish it really well. We didn't deserve to lose it but we have to learn. They won the game on our mistakes.
"James [Justin] got a great reaction from the supporters which will give him confidence. You could see his energy and defending. It is brilliant to have him back. He is a very important player for us."

Brentford
Brentford boss Thomas Frank tells BT Sport: "Unbelievably proud of my team. We are the smallest club in the Premier League, Manchester United the biggest. We destroyed them in the first half, they didn't have a sniff, three huge chances and there could only have been one winner of this game. They are unbelievably lucky. I know all the stuff about taking chances. They changed the system against little Brentford.
"One of those nights, fair play to David de Gea, if we get those chances again one will go in the back of the net. Our intensity killed them, we showed that in the first half, we played the Brentford way.
"Of the three goals, the second is most disappointing and difficult to come back from. The way we smashed them in the first half was fantastic, so proud of my team."

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, speaking to BBC MOTD: "I think we showed today that we don't want to give up. Never. The players know very well what our philosophy must be. We must fight to the end and try to also get a result. Today to lose this game was not right. We created many many chances. We were unlucky when we conceded. At the end we were very good. And we believed to the end. We wanted three points and we deserved them.
"I don't know if the game against Chelsea we can recover injured players but I think in this moment our team is very important to have all the players available. We can try to fight then and be competitive.
"The response of the team was good from the start. I have found a group that have shown me from the first day a desire to work with me and the staff and to improve every day. We know we have a long path in front of us but for me it is important to know they want to improve. Step by step we need to raise out level and improve quality. Today we played a good game and if I have to see one situation we need to improve, there are key moments. Sometimes we do not understand this, that you need to control the game. A great team does this.
"For me it is difficult to tell you something about our target. I think we have a long path and now we have to work. We know every well we have to fight to try to reach our best result. It will be very difficult because of the level of this tournament."

Manchester United
Manchester United goal scorer Anthony Elanga speaking to BT Sport: "Second half we played our best football. We really stepped it up.
"The first goal lifted the team, then the second and third goal came and it got better.
On his opener and working with interim manager Ralf Rangnick: "The first touch set it up. I could see the keeper coming and I just had to head it in.
"I want to continue to work hard and get more goals. I appreciate the boss so much. You can see the intensity we put in in training and can see that if you put in that work you get the results you deserve."

Former Spurs striker Peter Crouch reacts on BT Sport: "Unbelievabe. The away end is splling on the pitch. What an end to the game. It was just great to be here."
And ex-Leicester midfielder Robbie Savage adds: "Steven Bergwijn was sensational. That finish at the end is sensational. This is why it's the best gam in the world."
Leicester 2-3 Tottenham
Leicester City
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to BT Sport: "It was 93 minutes of really good work. We showed good resilience in defence. The goals we scored were terrific.
"To concede the equaliser was disappointing to happen so late, but the winner was a very poor goal to concede. It is hard to not have taken anything from the game.
"It's managing the game. Fundamentally, we missed out on key moments leading to the second goal and the third goal, Youri (Tielemans) knows he can never make that pass, it was really naive from him.
"That was a great opportunity tonight, but you have to see that through. I don't think Tottenham won the game, we presented them the three points.
"It's bitterly disappointing but we have to get back on the training pitch and again for the weekend."
On James Justin's return: "It was a great confidence boost. He's a top-class player, he looked good, was quick and strong. It's really good to have him back."

All over.
United take home the points but will blow a big sigh of relief after Brentford missed chance after chance in the first half.

Bruno Fernandes in to finish it off, tries a cute chip over Jonas Lossl but gets no height on it and the goalkeeper can catch at his mid-riff.
"What was that?" enquire the Brentford fans, in less polite terms.

If Brentford end up losing this game they will have to look back at themselves.
They had a lot of opportunities and just didn’t take them. They weren’t clinical enough in front of goal.
