    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Brentford Community Stadium

Manchester United have been thoroughly rotten but, thanks to David De Gea and Brentford's failure to take their chances, they are somehow still in this game. Awful from them so far.

What's really worrying about this United side is this is what Rangnick thinks are the best XI!

    Tim

Most new managers get a feel good uplift in performance. Rangnick has had no impact.

    Andy, Glos

I feel for Ralf Rangnick, he has all the authority of a substitute teacher the week before summer hols...

United will be more than relieved it's goalless at the interval, thanks to goalkeeper David de Gea.

Brentford should already be back home tucked up in bed cuddling their three points.

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It must have been hard for James Justin. He must have been in places where he’s thinking ‘Am I ever going to be playing again?’

To be out of football for that long, credit to him he has worked ever so well.

Before that injury he was on England’s radar so it’s a big boost having him back, he’s a terrific young player.

Wruff: United can only play sideways and backwards.....most of the players are easily on 80k per week...they should be on 80 quid a week..pathetic.

Dara Sheahan: Positionally horrendous in attack and defence. Incapable of 5-yard passes. Is it all just a lack of confidence? De Gea must be some dancer with those feet, though

    Wide!

Matt Doherty latches on to a loose ball following a deflected cross from the left but fluffs the chance to put Spurs ahead, sending his effort past the far post.

  16. Postpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

United need to move the ball quicker, Brentford's 5-3-2 is rigid and difficult to make inroads on when they are not in possession.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2022

    Leicester 1-1 Tottenham

Harry Kane is fouled as he looks to break past Hamza Choudhury and into a threatening position. The Foxes man takes a yellow. The home fans do not like it one bit.

To be honest, they're not happy with anything Kane is doing unless it's firing efforts off target.
