Brendan Rodgers says the return of defender James Justin is a "huge plus" as Leicester's injury crisis begins to ease.

The Foxes have played the second-fewest games in the Premier League as a result of Covid-19 and injuries and had only eight senior players fit for the ultimately postponed game with Everton on Tuesday.

Justin's return from a cruciate knee ligament injury is a big boost for Rodgers, who also hopes to welcome back Patson Daka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Luke Thomas and Caglar Soyuncu for Saturday's game at Burnley.

"James has looked very strong in training and to have him back is a huge plus," said Rodgers. "He has been a big miss for us in so many ways.

"He's a strong player who will really help our team. I'm delighted he's available again."

Justin came through 45 minutes for Leicester U23s against Chelsea last Saturday and Rodgers thinks he is likely to make the bench for the trip to Turf Moor.

It has been an inconsistent, stop-start season for Leicester. Their last league game saw them beat Liverpool, giving them something to build on, but then the games started dropping.

Another win tonight and they'll start considering Europe again.

Brentford are at something of a cross roads. An impressive start has given way to a dose of top-flight reality. They don't really have any concerns right not, considering the gap and the general form of the bottom four. But another loss tonight and some results going against them and they won't be able to relax one bit.

Tottenham have been left frustrated by their postponed games but have a real opportunity in front of them now.

Yes, games in hand do not automatically mean points, but with a load of matches on their nearest rivals, they can propel themselves firmly into the Champions League picture with some wins. Just look at Chelsea in third - five more games played and an 11-point gap.

The last two times we have covered league games featuring Manchester United via live text commentary on our site, things have got a bit toxic. It is fair to say things have not gone right. Wolves at home was dire, Aston Villa away a different kind of poor after having taken a 2-0 lead. A loss at Brentford tonight? Things would get messy.

But like Spurs, Ralf Rangnick's side have games in hand on those in third and fourth. A few wins and that top-four charge is back on.

Leicester still some way off full strength. Tottenham in comparatively good health.

Excellent to see James Justin back for the Foxes. Very good player.

With the exception of Burnley, no two sides have seen their fixtures disrupted as much as Leicester and Spurs this season.

Covid cancellations and cup competitions mean that the last time Antonio Conte's side played a league game was 1 January.

Brendan Rodgers' lads haven't taken to the field for a Premier League match this year - their last being the 1-0 win over Liverpool on 28 December.

Tonight, though, they will tick their games played tally up to 19 and will be both be hoping the return to action signifies up upward surge.
