    Gary Gardner (74 mins)

Another superb goal in this game!

Birmingham City pull back another one to reduce the arrears and maybe, just maybe make this one interesting for the finish.

Gary Gardner with a fine finish, low with his right foot into the bottom right corner beyond Marek Rodak's outstretched arms from outside of the box.

  2. League One latestpublished at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

Couple of goals go flying in in quick succession in League One.

Most significantly, Wigan come from behind at Morecambe to lead 2-1 thanks to Stephen Humphrys.

While at the Abbey Stadium, Doncaster have pulled one back against Cambridge United thanks to Joe Dodoo.

    2-1 the hosts now lead.

  3. goal

    Alan Browne (71 mins)

    Now, this is interesting!

Less than 20 minutes remain, but the 10 men of Preston have something to cling onto.

It is the captain, Alan Browne, who has the goal after collecting a Daniel Johnson pass and showing determination to drive the ball home.

    Preston 0-2 Sheffield United

Credit to Preston, who are still fighting and could still get something out of this match if they can find a goal quickly.

Tom Barkuizen is the latest to fire a shot over, and the striker has just been replaced by Ched Evans.

    Fulham 4-1 Birmingham City

Fulham still sniffing more goals but this time Fabio Carvalho is denied by Neil Etheridge.

Good link up play once more between him and Neeskens Kebano.

Meanwhile Harrison Reed is in the book with a yellow card for a lazy challenge on Gary Gardner.

  6. League Two latestpublished at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

No tractor on the pitch now in Burslem.

Tom Elliott arrived somewhat quicker at the far post to put Salford in front at Port Vale a moment ago.

That means the only game without goals in League Two is now Hartlepool's match at Carlisle.

  7. League One latestpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

Goals not been exactly flowing in League One tonight, but Cambridge United have doubled their lead against struggling Doncaster Rovers to lead 2-0.

Harrison Dunk with their second goal with a fine header.

Wigan meanwhile still being held 1-1 at Morecambe as they try and close the gap on the top two but they've just struck the crossbar with Callum Lang heading against the woodwork.

Still goalless at Plough Lane between AFC Wimbledon and Portsmouth just past the hour mark.

    Preston 0-2 Sheffield United

Rhian Brewster sends an effort over the crossbar in a second half with few chances to speak of so far.

This feels like a good opportunity for the 21-year-old to grow in confidence, with his side looking as though they are in a comfortable position at Deepdale.

  9. League Two latestpublished at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

A Freddie Sears penalty put Colchester in front at Sutton for the second time just before the break, and Matt Gray's side look keen to respond once again.

Sutton midfielder Robert Milsom struck a half-volleyed effort sweetly, only for it to whistle wide of the post.

Things have only just restarted at Port Vale after the aforementioned tractor-enforced delay.

10 minutes played in this second half and surprisingly, no more goals.

But Ivan Sunjic clearly buoyed by his first-half strike for the visitors as he has another go on goal after a neat turn and shot.

Marek Rodak able to get his hands sorted and gather this one though.

Can he get another tonight to lead outright?

The 10-man Preston North End have started the second half well, with Alan Browne's header tipped over the bar by Blades keeper Wes Foderingham.

League Two leaders Forest Green have seen their match against Mansfield abandoned due to heavy fog.

Meanwhile, Owura Edwards has scored on his Colchester debut after signing on loan yesterday, to help his side go 2-1 up at Sutton.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

It was said before the start that Preston don't have the best record when hosting Sheffield United, with just one win in seven in all competitions.

Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom will be delighted given that his side weathered the early storm of Preston pressure before finding a deflected opener through Jayden Bogle.

The penalty incident that made it 2-0 saw Andrew Hughes sent off. For that reason, it looks like it will be a tough second half for the hosts.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

You certainly get entertained watching Fulham this season.

That's 20 goals in their last two and a half matches in the past seven days.

More impressively, they've netted 17 of those!

4-1 they lead at the break and most surprisingly is that Aleksandar Mitrovic hasn't netted any of them.

  20. goal

GOAL: Fulham 4-1 Birmingham Citypublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2022

    Ivan Sunjic (45 mins)

    Well, well!

This is the goal of the night so far arguably and it's come for Birmingham City.

The Blues pull one back on the stroke of half-time as Ivan Sunjic decides to try his luck in space just outside the box.

He rifles a right-foot shot across Marek Rodak's goal and it goes in off the right post into the top corner.

    Beauty.
