Quote MessageNisbet has to do better there, he's picked out well by Cadden. He just doesn't make good contact with it.
Celtic 2-0 Hibernian
Chris Cadden with another good run and cross from the right. He looks like Hibs' brightest light.
Kevin Nisbet bangs his shot straight into a defender and Josh Campbell rushes his follow-up effort, which is blocked again.

Quote MessageThe middle of the park for Hibs isn't good enough to play balls forward, or around corners, that can effectively eliminate whoever they're playing against. They've got to be brave in the middle of the park.
Celtic 2-0 Hibernian
Hibs aren't doing themselves many favours here as goalkeeper Matt Macey dithers over a clearance and a sliding Maeda is inches away from charging it down inside the six yard box.
Paul Hanlon then makes a great tackle to recover the situation for his team.

Quote MessageCeltic have been very impressive for me. The tempo is so high, with really good movement and interchanges between the players in attack too.

Quote MessageI think it was a penalty. For me, it was a handball.
Josip Juranovic (pen)
Low into the corner, with Matt Macey diving off in the other direction.
Celtic 1-0 Hibernian
The ball bounces up on to the arm of Josh Doig... He's not really doing much to thwart an attack but the Hibs defender's arm is out. Harsh, but I guess those are the rules.

Quote MessageCeltic's tempo is too quick for Hibs. Not just on the ball, when Hibs have it they're being shut down so quickly.
Celtic 1-0 Hibernian
A dreadful pass from Hibs debutant Rocky Bushiri goes straight to Tom Rogic but the Celtic midfielder, perhaps surprised by the gift, can't find a team-mate. A big let-off for the Belgian defender.

Quote MessageHibs can't afford to lose the second goal that's for sure. They will be hoping the game settles down a bit so that they can try and create chances of their own.
Celtic 1-0 Hibernian
A powerful shot from James Forrest is on target but Hibs skipper Paul Hanlon gets himself in the way.
It's one-way traffic at the moment, with Hibs under the cosh.
Celtic 1-0 Hibernian
A poor defensive header from Josh Doig falls for Tom Rogic. The Celtic man takes a touch with his knee then sends a dipping shot just wide.
Celtic 1-0 Hibernian
Martin Boyle is off and running as a long ball out of defence is aimed in his direction but Celtic defender Carl Starfelt gets his outstretched toe on the ball to make a vital interception.

Quote MessageAt times last season Celtic were so slow and ponderous but this is blistering attacking football
Celtic 1-0 Hibernian
That goal from Daizen Maeda is the 5,000th of the Scottish Premiership era.
It really should have been Kevin Nisbet celebrating that landmark. The Scotland striker's miss really needs to be seen to be believed...

Quote MessageWhat a great start for Maeda, he will be absolutely buzzing with that.

Quote MessageIt is incredible! What a start to this game. Celtic exploited Hibs there, it was such a simple goal in the end.
Daizen Maeda
Josh Campbell is guilty of coughing up possession and Tom Rogic clips a quick low pass into Daizen Maeda, who is completely unmarked in front of goal.
I'm not sure he catches the shot that well but keeper Matt Macey just kind of falls over and the ball is nestling in the net.
What a start for the new Celtic striker.
